To finish or not a saga?

I have a strange thing with TV Shows, movies and books, once that I start to watch them if I like the first episodes I need to watch till the end, books are the same, I watch all the episodes of How I met your Mother despite the fact that the last two seasons where terrible, the same with other TV shows, the same with certain movies, I watched part 1 and 2 and even 7.... With books is the same, for example I read the first 5 books of True Blood, then I read the rest despite the fact that I did not enjoy the story anymore. Is like an obsession to read it till the end... Does someone else have the same problem? Do you ever feel that you need to continue until the story ends? Sometimes I enjoy, like Harry Potter or the Hunger Games, so others no so much but if I do not finish I feel that I am doing something wrong.... Is just me?

It's not. I do the same thing...I actually stay away from series because if I like the first one and not the second, I'm stuck finishing. I learned my lesson after 50 Shades of Grey. Those are hours I will never get back.

I have a ton of unfinished series. Some of them I plan to continue reading, others I've given up on. I only keep reading if I continue to like the books. If I read one in the middle that isn't my favorite, I might read the next one to see if it's a fluke or not. If I don't like the next one, it definitely gets abandoned.

I used to be more adamant about finishing series than I am now.
