Welcome! Feel free to check out and contribute to our #wit thread, too. August is such a great opportunity to share our favorites with one another.

Welcome Paulo.

I like reading a lot recently, so I have figured how I read mostly men authors since I enjoy mostly historical books and I am slowly remedying it.
I write a little bit.

Welcome Jovan :)
We have a lot of history fans here too, and I have found some amazing female authored histories here! Feel free to check out the group's non-fiction shelf to see if there are any there that appeal to you

Welcome to the group Hannah, I hope you find LOTS of inspiration with us. Read Women members love The Booker Prize (and many other bookish prize lists). There is a link in our Women in Translation challenge for the Booker International long list, and I believe our July read will be the winner of this year's Booker Prize.

I recently rediscovered the joy of reading and I have been trying to broaden genres and read different styles to find what I truly love. Glad to be here!

Im really enthusiastic about essays, books, research and anything that has to do with the reality of all kinds of woman! I love finding new books written about dykes and wlw in general!
I have been interested in reading more fictional books that have a female protagonist, or that it was a women's work, written with sincerity and sensitivity! So im really happy about joining the group!

I also want to learn to read fiction. Is there anyone else who finds reading fiction challenging? I am curious to know. :)

Welcome Samaria. I read more fiction than non fiction but I have always suggested that non fiction readers find a topic they like, science, true crime, psychology for instance then look for fiction that has those elements. Some of the lists on here are a great way to find books.

Thank you, Beth, and thanks for the tip. I will be using this roadmap to experiment with fiction. Cheers.

Cheers Michaela. I am glad to have found like-minded and an active group of readers to engage with.

I don't read much to be perfectly honest but I want to change that. I want to read books with women or AFAB (I can dream) main characters and figured this grou..."
Tommie, thanks for joining us. I'll set up a thread in our chat folder inviting recs with AFAB and/or ace main characters and we'll see what we can crowd-source over time. In the meantime, please do share your non-fiction and other recs from time to time, and jump in and participate or lurk in whatever fashion appeals.

I'm Sara from Germany. I am 33 years old and love reading books that give you ideas to think about. Feminism, philosophy and music are some of my interests. I am registered here for a long time but haven't been active in these threads unfortunately. Therefore I am looking forward to having discussions and exchanging thoughts. Stay safe, Sara

Hi Sara, and welcome. I am looking forward to exchanging ideas with you.

It seems that I never took the time for it ... at least this is one tiny good thing about the circumstances ...

This year, I'm involved in another group's team challenge to read nonfiction. So now I'm reading more male authors, even when the subject is a female. I'd like to find more nonfiction titles from women writers.
When I saw that this group had chosen Invisible Women as the BOTM and set up a thread for Asian American heritage month (a smaller ethnic group), I thought this is a fantastic group to join! Besides, how could I not join given my name? I had read Invisible Women as my first book of 2020 and thought it was an important foundational step for future discussion and change.

I'm so happy to find this Goodreads group which has been around for some time. Obviously, I fully support what you've got going on here!
(Please note: I am NOT one of the authors promoted on the Crones With Pen page & directory. )
