Hello! I´m Michaela from Austria, and I recently joined. Want to broaden my list of female authors, though I read some of the Classics, esp. Victorian. Looking forward to learn to know you all and more female authors!
Hi, I'm Kristen, and I'm from the US in the state of Florida. I found this group, thinking it would be fun and interesting to get into conversations about good books. I enjoy romance, fantasy, LGBT+, etc. I am hoping to broaden my reading list with different books I would think to read.
Hello to all from Vancouver Canada. I am an avid reader of books by women and especially love international fiction and novels in translation.I just finished reading my first novel for #womenintranslation month The Mussel Feast and thought it was amazing.

I am Jovan, male from the Balkans. I have joined similar group from my region but that group is not existing anymore.I like reading a lot recently, so I have figured how I read mostly men authors since I enjoy mostly historical books and I am slowly remedying it.
I write a little bit.
Hello my name is Hannah and I live in the UK. I have always loved reading and I now mostly read female authors as I find their books to generally be more relatable. I am currently reading the female authors from the booker international prize long list. I live with multiple health conditions and find that my 'reading bug' (as I call it) can come and go and I am hoping that this group can give me some inspiration!

Glad to have you Angely. We try to branch out and I know it's easy to fall into certain genres with likeminded people. I hope you'll add genre and reading suggestions to help is explore women in all genres and styles as well. I continue to find many surprising reads here and hope you will too

Hi. I am Samaira, and I am from Denmark. I mostly read academic literature and non-fiction, and interested in reading more from female writers and stories about female experiences.I also want to learn to read fiction. Is there anyone else who finds reading fiction challenging? I am curious to know. :)

Welcome Samaria. I read more fiction than non fiction but I have always suggested that non fiction readers find a topic they like, science, true crime, psychology for instance then look for fiction that has those elements. Some of the lists on here are a great way to find books.

Tommie, thanks for joining us. I'll set up a thread in our chat folder inviting recs with AFAB and/or ace main characters and we'll see what we can crowd-source over time. In the meantime, please do share your non-fiction and other recs from time to time, and jump in and participate or lurk in whatever fashion appeals.

thank you ! :) It seems that I never took the time for it ... at least this is one tiny good thing about the circumstances ...
Hello, all! I'm Woman Reading (or WR) from the United States. I have tended to read fiction primarily written by women over the years. It just turned out that way. It wasn't a conscious decision. This year, I'm involved in another group's team challenge to read nonfiction. So now I'm reading more male authors, even when the subject is a female. I'd like to find more nonfiction titles from women writers.
When I saw that this group had chosen Invisible Women as the BOTM and set up a thread for Asian American heritage month (a smaller ethnic group), I thought this is a fantastic group to join! Besides, how could I not join given my name? I had read Invisible Women as my first book of 2020 and thought it was an important foundational step for future discussion and change.

Hello everyone! I'm Frances from the Philippines. I'm new to the group. I'm excited to be a member, and hope that I can participate. I'll likely be lurking at first. I'll be sending you friend-requests and follow several of you too, if that's okay?
Welcome Frances! A lot of us on here are friends so I'm sure that will be fine. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts
Hi, I am a reader from India. I like reading on a broad range of topics and exploring genres. I am, however, partial to magical realism, eastern and middle eastern philosophy, and material on psychology. The impressive list of books by women authors drew me to the group, and I am looking forward to discovering new favourites and different perspectives.
