Welcome Jade!I love to read just about anywhere. I'm especially fond of both my bed and in the bath.
Hello Read Women members,I'm Rose and as I've gotten older have found my reading tastes becoming more and more women-oriented. My reading challenge this year, which was extremely modest, ended up comprising only women authors though this wasn't intentional.
I find it difficult to describe what genre I prefer but looking at this year's list it appears that I like historical novels set in England of the 40s with strong, female leads and with particular attention paid to landscape and everyday details lol. Looking forward to inspiration from this group.
Hello everyone,My name is also Jade aha, I'm 22 soon to be 23 next month. I've always taken a backseat when it comes to forums or discussions but recently gotten back into reading regularly so in need of some good recs. I'm into fantasy, mythology and general non fiction novels. I've found the books I love most are written by women so this seemed to be a perfect group to be a part of.
Anyway, anyone can add me as a friend feel free to reach out :)
Hello everyone. My name is Susan. I found this group because a Goodreads friend is also a member here. I am from Canada but currently live in the U.S. (in New Orleans). I mostly read literary fiction and am a sucker for prize lists. It looks like this group will push me to read more books from outside North America, which is good! I'm looking forward to joining in some of the challenges and group reads for 2022. I'm already planning on completing the multi-prompt challenge and also to see how many Women in Translation titles I can read.
Welcome to all the members who have recently joined - Misty from Colorado, Lily/Luisa from Brazil, Jade from San Francisco , Rose, Jade from the UK, and Susan, a Canadian living in New Orleans. What an eclectic group of women from around the globe. Hope you all enjoy this group. I'm pretty new myself and I think you too will the find members here friendly and helpful. If Susan is any indicator of this new group of members joining (she's a GR friend that I know), I am definitely looking forward to seeing what you each read, as well as your comments, recommendations and group participation. Enjoy the group!!
Hi everyone! My name is Kira (she/her), I am 19 years old and have always loved to read. I am currently in my first year as an English major at the University of Calgary and plan on becoming an English or History teacher. I am currently reading Dickensā āGreat Expectationsā I am almost done, after I am planning on rereading a long time favourite of mine: āJane Eyreā. I feel like many people in this group may have already read this one but if you havenāt I sincerely recommend it, definitely a comfort book for me. Donāt be deceived into thinking Iām super smart or anything by this paragraph, trust me Iām not. I will literally read anything people find remotely entertaining, so feel free to give any recommendations!
Other than reading I really love to travel, write, and dance around like a crazy person with my friends. Wow that sounds really corny but itās the truth!
Anywho, thatās me. Happy reading!

Hello everyone!I'm Karen Michele and I'm a retired high school librarian who likes to read lots of genres. I've been watching the group for a while and I'd like to join in on more of the challenges and group reads now and concentrate on reading a balance of female authors in 2022!
Dearests:I suffer from the same gut wrenching disease that rottens my soul and blinds my eyes as the OP Mod: I have an unconscious skewness that prevents me from picking more women's books.
Here, here. * raises glass with milk * ( <= I'm a teetotaler. XD )
lol
Hi, guys... I'm Malola. I'm Ecuadorian, an LLM in IP, doing the devil's job (I'm a practising lawyer), atheist, ______ *insert a thousand other features*.
Anyways, I have found that I'm consuming mostly one especific type of books; so I want to broaden my horizons. There's so many perspectives, voices, points of views... why remaining with (mostly) one?
So, since this "gut-wrenching disease" seems to be basically a cognitive bias, one way to nib it little by little is by... planning my... readings. =P
Oh, the lawrds shall give me wisdom... This poor soul is just naked and cannot organise herself in an intuitive manner. XD
On a side note: Where could I set a challenge mostly for myself and my (own) structure/organisation purpouses? I saw a Challenge folder, but it's sooo last year's. XD JK.
Cheers!

So, I did my LLM at UCT. I'm not using "z" when one shall use "s" nor omitting "u".
I'll stick to "organisation" rather the "z" spelling and so on. XD
Hi, I'm KT. My favourite genres are historical fiction, science fiction and fantasy. I had joined Goodreads a year ago to keep track of the books I'd read and my thoughts on them. I realised (quite recently) that I wasn't using Goodreads to its full potential, so I decided to join book clubs. I'd love to get involved in some of the discussions, get great book recommendations and make some friends along the way.
Hello! My name is Cristina and Iām from Colombia.
Iām a literature student here in BogotĆ” and I love reading. Throughout my career Iāve noticed that we hardly read any women, and, even more sad, I tend to read men when Iām reading for pleasure. Last year I got very serious about reading women, and Iāve found amazing writers. So this year Iām very excited to stay on this track, and specifically by reading Latin American women.
Love to support women, and I truly believe theyāre just as amazing (or even better) than men.
:)
Hi everyone, I'm Pauline. I work for NHS Scotland, I've been trying to reignite my reading mojo this year and thought Good reads would be a good way to keep track. Looking round the website I saw there were lots of different groups to join so thought I'd join a couple that were of interest. Looking forward to the discussions and getting to know people.
Hi everyone, Iām Rosy from the UK, Iām just finishing up my PhD and I want to try and get back into (non-academic) reading. My research is about filming in heritage spaces in the UK so I like to read things that are separate from that, like sci-fi. I have a shelf of to-be-read books but Iām hoping to read more women authors.
Welcome girls! Looking ahead to reading women with you, and yes, I also learned and write the British English version! :)
Hey hey Iām Laura (she/her, 29) from Germany. I donāt exclusively read works by women but mostly. Iām always looking for recommendations for my ever-growing, never-shrinking to-read-pile.
Hi I am Sonia from UK. Read mainly books written by women. Current purchases are backlisted (old green spined Viragos are my catnip and have been since the 80s) and recent translated fiction.
My name is Georgia Scott and I'm a new member. Colette is the woman writer I've recently found and love. I'm reading her in English but the soul is still there. What a love for life! Positive and strong.
Hi, I am new to this group, I am Boucle from France, and I live in Germany. I always loved reading women authors. I started with Jane Austen, then the Brontë sisters, and continued with Ninon de Lenclos, George Sand, Marguerite Duras, Mary Shelley, Madame de Sévigné, Madame de Lafayette, and contemporary authors like Simone Schwarz-Bart, Malika Mokeddem, Gisèle Pineau, Chahdortt Djavann etc... I am looking forward to discovering more authors in this group !
Hi! My name in Andrea and Iām from Spain. I love reading all kinds of books and Iād love to discover more women authors. This is the first Goodreads group I join so I hope I wonāt get lost in all the chats.
Hi Everyone, I hope you continue to be blessed during these chaotic times. My name is Nicole. I am a spiritual alignment specialist and author of Conquer Stress: The Overthinker's Guide to Peace and Happiness. I love reading spiritual books. Anything which will help in my growth and ascension for that matter.
I also love sharing higher truths with people to help them rise to their highest power and potential. I look forward to making meaningful connections here on Goodreads.
Hello! My name is Jamie and Iām in the US. I write and paint and keep chickens. I hope to both read more books next year and read more books by women. One of my favorite authors is Clarice Lispector.
Hello all! My name is Michelle, I'm from Texas, and I read a lot of women authors and feminist texts, so I thought this group sounded right up my alley. I recently gained a new favorite woman author this year as I started reading Connie Willis. In non-fiction, I'm a big fan of Mary Roach and Deborah Blum. I also read a lot of classic, Nordic, and Japanese literature. Actually, I enjoy reading pretty much everything, except romance (and that still probably has exceptions).
Welcome! I apologize that I havenāt kept up with this thread the last couple of months. We are all glad youāre here. @michelle, I havenāt read any of Willisā novels but would like to. Which is your fave?
Hello, you all.You may call me lippy. Iām 15 years old and Iām from Vietnam. I live in Austria though. Yeah well Iām very excited to be here;)
Hi i am living in the US and started recently with good reads. Happy to connect with women readers here!
Hello. I'm Jana from Germany. I mostly read female authors. From time to time I also read books written by cis-men. My favourite author is Marge Piercy. Lately I read a lot Ursula K. Le Guin. And I have a great passion for feminist rape revenge stories. If you know some, pleased don't hesitate top point them out to me. I'm still new on this site and very exited. I really hope that I can keep up the reading in this group to actively participate in the discussion.
Hello, everyone. I am Kimo from SLC, UT. I am a recovering philosophy student and a currently finishing up my last semester in an MSW program. It's been nice to read all of the introductions and see the community! Very cool!I am going to be reading primarily women and minority authors this year. While I read mostly non-fiction right now, I am really interested in people retelling and creating myth that is more inclusive. My favorite recent book was "The Hidden Lamp" which looks at the roles women have played in Buddhism through the lens of a Koan. I typically meander around books and have a lot of them table.
Nice to meet you all! :)

Hi all! I'm Emily - I'm from the US and am currently on a massive non-fiction kick. I've been trying to read more books by women, and I'm loving Carrie Fisher's "Wishful Drinking" right now. I'm excited to read more, thank you Louise for setting the group up!
Hi Emily! Welcome! I've been trying to read more memoirs, so it looks like I might be putting Carrie Fisher on my list. Thanks!
Hi everyone, my name is Giulia and Iām Italian. Lately I discovered that I wasnāt reading as much as I wanted because I was sick of stereotipycal stories (the same old white, cisgender, heterosexual male narrative: you lost me there). So I decided to look deeper into gender books and gender studies. My favourite genre has always been epic fantasy, but I love all narrative.Hope I can contribute to the group with some good Italian books!
Thanks for keeping up this place, itās really cool.
Hello and welcome, Giulia! I'm also tired of the same old stories, so now I focus mainly on women authors. This is a great group for that.
Hope I can contribute to the group with some good Italian books!
Looking forward to your recommendations!
Hi everybody, I'm Sherri Fulmer Moorer and I'm new to this group. I love scifi, mystery, and an occasional political thriller. I'm also an independent author of scifi and mystery novels with strong, female protagonists. Feel free to check out my author link if you're looking for something different, and my reader page for things I've enjoyed. Hint: one of my favorites is Planetfall and the books in that series. Looking forward to the interactions and challenges here, as I really do need to plug into a community as a reader as well. Finding good books to read is tough sometimes, and I look forward to recommendations.
Hi. I'm Amber. I'm from the US. My reading selections are pretty varied. I enjoy historical fictions, thrillers, horror, rom-coms, nordic noir, true crime, memoirs and biographies, science, medicine, and history. I'm sure there's more that I'm not thinking of right now. I just finished the latest Cash Blackbear book by Marcie Rendon. I found this group while trying to find more books in that genre.
