Finally going to do my amazingly small amount of homework that is due tomorrow, then heading to bed.

message 52: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Yep. Its a mix of procrastination and a preference to working at night.

message 53: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Wait, I need to rephrase that: a preference to writing at night. I usually do all my other homework before now, but when it comes to writing assignments, I always do them when it's dark out.

About to get kicked off the computer by my mum (we say mum instead of mom.)

message 58: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments I think in America they use mom but everywhere else it's mum. Like how every body calls football - football but then soccer in America. In New Zealand we use both terms so it doesn't sound weird to me.

message 59: by Simmaron (new)

Simmaron (mybookedlife) | 1119 comments We generally use football here!

message 61: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) @Chelsea yep, I call my mom "mom." and we have our American football and soccer and a ton of other sports. It's kinda tough to remember that our football is actually soccer everywhere else (especially when speaking about it in Spanish where soccer is fútbol). America also uses Fahrenheit for temperature, instead of Celsius, and drive on the right side of the road (I know England drives on the left, but I'm not sure of everywhere else). America just likes to different, I guess.

On the laptop my mom finally found a couple days ago. We've been looking for it since November, and we found it on a high shelf in the living room right next to the tv. Either we are blind or someone else in my house put it there. :D

message 64: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Ew, homework. I've been feeling bored too, and that's exactly why. It's the week before finals week, so I'm really weighed down with a lot.

Writing up lesson plans for class tomorrow (fingers crossed for a snow day!)

message 68: by Emily (new)

Emily (emily21) | 217 comments Also since I saw the post on Football and soccer I just want to mention something that always bothers me... why isn't it football in the US too?? I mean in soccer you kick the ball with your feet and aren't allowed to use your hands.... Football makes sense. In American FOOTball you're not allowed to use your feet unless you're kicking a field goal and that is only 3 points or 1 point after a touchdown... it just doesn't make any sense... sorry for going off on a tangent, but I love sports and that has always been weird to me... lol

message 69: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) I think every American has asked that question, but I have no answer for you (yet).

message 70: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) I just read a few explanations about football's name and apparently it has to do with the fact that the sport is played on foot rather than on horseback. It also has something to do with its relation to rugby, but I don't really get that part.

I'm sick so it's a day of reading. So they sorta balance each other out quite nicely.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I'll actually keep a hold of that luck for tomorrow because the test was postponed for tomorrow because my teacher felt the class needed more review.

message 79: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 2466 comments well that gives more time to study and if the weather is anything like here we may have a snow day it was over 40degrees and raining than around 3 it started snowing and within 20 min we had a good 2in of snow now the temp is dropping to 29degrees and the crazy part is its suppose to be 60degrees saturday

message 80: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Ha, so you get crazy weather over there. I do too. The weather changes so often where I live. No snow today, but it's raining.

message 81: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 2466 comments yep here in Indiana we like to say if you don't like the weather give it a min it will change lol

message 82: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Where I live, the slogan is "It's the Climate!" There's not much snow here like I'd believe would be where you live, but the weather still acts wacky.
