I've read Fools Assassin twice and the 2nd time was as torturous as the first. I warmed to Bee a little more for during the second reading though and would have loved to go straight onto book 2!

OK, Scarletine, I'm here as you said I should be!"
Good man! :-)
I must admit I did see a screen grab of 1 page of book 2 on an unmentionalble website, and the word Kelsingra stood out! The vial of dragon's blood on the UK front cover makes me more curious as to wether Fool is given it to cure him/make him elderling/give him kick ass powers.
If people are already discussing Fool's Wuest?
If people are already discussing Fool's Quest?
Sorry, meant to say;
If people are already discussing Fool's Quest, is this thread spoiler free for FQ or best I stay in the other thread?

I kind of assumed this was a spoiler free discussion before it's out everywhere. But maybe that was a bad assumption on my part.
Rob wrote: "I kind of assumed this was a spoiler free discussion before it's out everywhere. But maybe that was a bad assumption on my part."I started it as a spoiler free discussion, as the Fools Assassin thread was getting soooo long! Maybe its in the wrong catagory...anyone know how to change that?
If you edit the topic name, you can choose a new folder. You may also want to add (No spoilers) to the topic.

Cool. Hopefully Hanne pops back up and makes a section for the book at some point soon.If she hasn't by July or so I'll try to message her.
Another depiction of Fool. I would see his Features as finer and his limbs slender and athletic. But this is not bad at all!
Scarletine wrote: OK Done, Alfred and Stella...you can stay in this thread to speculate etc..."
Thanks!
The depiction of the Fool is pretty good! Any clue what the metal ring in his hand is?
To me it seems like it's definitely a Lord Golden pose and expression. I can't imagine the Fool sitting like that sincerely. :)
69 days by my count... yay! In the sixties!
Thanks!

Yes, Lord Golden(but not decadant enough) Fool would have he feet up on the chair, clasping his knees. The ring of metal is probably supposed to be some kind of crown...should be the rooster crown but there aren't any rooster heads!
Oh Crumbs....Robin Hobb tweeted this...a little hint of a spoiler now she's writing book 3 "Oh, sure, put Rapskal and the Fool in the same book. What could possibly go wrong? #decisionstoregret"
EEEEKKKKK. So Rapskal and the fool in the same book...so they must go to Kelsingra in book 2.
So people may need to read The Rainwild chronicles

And there's new Liveship covers by Jackie Morris, and they are stunning as usual.

That is serious teasing... my favourite characters from BOTH series? Put Paragon in there too and I'll faint from excitement. XD

Exactly! So Fool reaches kelsingra...and book 3. That is something! (phew)
Yes the covers are lovely.
As in you don't like Rapskal and the Fool in the same book or you don't like the fact it was spoiled?
I don't know how I feel about an author spoiling her own book, but I guess it's her way of marketing. If its advertising its working on me for sure. By my count we have 57 days to go... :)

I'm pretty sensitive about spoilers. I didn't really think anything of that. Even now I'm still not bothered by it for some reason.Probably because it tells me almost nothing about the actual plot while enticing me to think we get some more crossover between the Fitz characters and the Rainwild ones.

And encourage those readers who haven't read the Rainwilds to go and buy/read the books so they understand where they fit with the new fitz/fool books. Excellent marketing ploy. win/win cha ching!
I know, it's my fault, it's just I prefer to read without knowing what will happen next. I don't follow authors on twitter, and I thought since this thread said 'no spoilers' in the title there would be no spoilers. I know I'm in a minority on this so, so don't worry, I'll just stay clear of this group until I've read the book myself.
I think we're past 50 days... 47, I think. So close! A month and a half! :)

That's not a fine aristocratic face! And why does he look so old? Gah! Do these illustrators even read the books? I've pre ordered the audiobooks- which come out on 30TH JULY in the uk...yet the kindle book isn't released until August!
Alfred wrote: "Scarletine wrote: "I've pre ordered the audiobooks- which come out on 30TH JULY in the uk..."I've never tried listening to audio books, which version/publisher would you recommend?"
It depends where you are in the world, which narrator you get!
Paul Bohemer read the Farseer and was really good. I think that recording is world wide. In the UK Nick Taylor read Tawny Man and is AMAZING. He embodies Fool and just adds an extra layer to the story with his voices for the characters. But i think the US has a different narrator. The Liveship/RWC have a terrible narrator in the UK. I just had to send the audiobooks back for a refund it was so bad. And for Fools Assassin, I don't know about the US, but the UK narrator sounds like he's reading his shopping list...that went back too and I got the kindle version. (I share my audiobooks account with my sisters and they wanted the FQ audio, but i'll probably wait for the Kindle version again, as the narrator made me so furious last time!)
I'm so excited, I'll be interviewing Jackie Morris next week and I'm so tempted to just pelt her with questions about the symbolism on the FQ cover...I might just sneak a few RH - related questions in at the end!
Emma Jane wrote: "I'm so excited, I'll be interviewing Jackie Morris next week and I'm so tempted to just pelt her with questions about the symbolism on the FQ cover...I might just sneak a few RH - related questions..."That's wonderful Emma Jane. Congratulations. I recall from her blog that she said she didn't even get to read the book before she did the covers, just had some conversations with RH about what she wanted.
That's amazing Emma!
I heard that Robin Hobb gave her a paragraph of Fool's Quest, and in that paragraph there were things she wanted on the cover.
So... A paragraph with crows, crown with a charging buck and then dragon blood? That's a lot of things in one paragraph. My bet is that it was one of Bees dreams. :)

I'll ask, just in case....if I'm really lucky she might possibly send me the paragraph. It would be brilliant to get any extra information though, it seems like august can't come quick enough!
So I did get some info! (Sorry its taken me a while to post it but I've been super busy)(view spoiler)
So excited now.
Me too. Might just wait till the book arrived.
2 weeks to go!
2 weeks to go!
OMG! I got an email from Audible this morning saying the Fools quest was ready to download. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeel.
Wastrel wrote: "*scowls*"I'm actually going to wait for the kindle version, as the narrator is awful and ruined my enjoyment of FA. But my sister will listen to the audio.
I'm getting to the point where I have to make a decision. Do I slow down reading the book I'm on and try to stretch it out until Fool's Quest comes out, or do I try to finish it now and then pick up a really short book to read between this one and FQ? I'm leaning toward the latter, but things are pretty busy IRL, so it's taking a bit of a risk.
I'm having the same problem. Except that I am only a quarter into a ASOIAF book- so I'll have to speed read despite the boring parts to finish it before the 13th. :)
Because, of course, Robin Hobb takes priority.

I've listened to the first half of the part 1 audiobook, because I couldn't wait :3 but now the most pressing of my questions have been answered, I'm going to wait until my book arrives. The narration is so bad I can't take it seriously otherwise xD
