This is where we'll discuss this book. It was a runaway winner so hopefully we'll enjoy it.

Deb Upnorth | 4 comments I happen to have started this book not knowing it was a book club choice. I love it. I really like it when an author has an imagination that can write about imaginary unique characters.

Mairzi I am amazed that it is almost the month's end and there aren't more posts about this fantastic book. I just finished it and I loved it. The story was novel and compelling. The characters were interesting and well drawn. When I was not actually reading it, I found myself thinking about the Golem, the Jinni and the others. The descriptions of New York were perfect. My only complaint is that I am getting tired of the device of using different style fonts but this is a very minor problem in an otherwise wonderful book.

Marymodavis I too love this book. The characters were brilliant and the way the story unfolded had me guessing until the end.

I just finished it. The last few chapters had me reading when I really had other things I needed to do. I agree with all of the above. What I liked the most was how these two mythological creatures had me contemplating human nature, what makes us human and what makes us individuals, and how everything has its own nature. Very very thought-provoking for a fantasy.
