Maple (maplerie) | 307 comments Ask a friend, grandparent, aunt/uncle, etc. It's a category that can easily be substituted by someone else if you don't have the option of a parent's input.

Brandy B (bybrandy) | 12 comments Really, pick anybody although I think the idea is to get maybe a different generation's input so I might try asking somebody suitably older than you. But, really, anything here. Just ask somebody who you respect.

Camilla What I did since both of my parents are dead: my mother used to like murder mysteries quite a lot, so I chose one representing that genre.

Emily My mom doesn't necessarily have a favorite book, but I know she has authors that she really likes. One of her favorite authors is Jodi Picoult, so I just chose one of her books for this task.

When you say your mom/dad doesn't have a favorite book, is it because they don't read or because they just don't have a favorite out of the books that they've read. It doesn't have to be their #1 favorite - just a book that they have enjoyed.

Pretty much anything Stephen King, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, Sue Grafton, Lillian Jackson Braun, J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series, James Patterson, Ray Bradbury, Agatha Christie...
I hope this helps.
