My first impressions of him were positive, however, he started to make me suspicious as he was always around and involved with the goings on.
I did start to wonder about him closer to the end. Ethan seemed to trust him so much that it seemed like he would make a good candidate for ultimate betrayal. At first though, I really liked this character.
I only liked him initially because Ethan and Merit liked him. Her first instinct was distrust until Ethan declared him a good guy. But, I was always wary of him because he came out of nowhere and we weren't given any history about him. His motives, though, were too disconnected for me to ever figure that out.
You're right, Jonetta. We were never really given any background on how Ethan knew Michael. We were just told he was a good guy. I was more than half way through the book before I actually started wondering what he was up to.
