Royal Escape from the Topic - for off topic chit chat

I'm one town south of Concord, QNPoohBear--wave as you drive by! :) The gift shop in the Concord Museum is very nice...

Pooh Bear, I agree that the 7 cookies sounds so much better! And I totally understand about trying to make all the gifts fairly equal (in size and value!) for all the nieces and nephews; I've got about fifteen of them to make equal!! Activity kits and books are great gifts! I always throw in some silly stuff, too, that their parents wouldn't get them.
I just jumped on the Orchard House website to reminisce (fond memories from about FORTY years ago!!). It looks like they might be closed today due to icy conditions. That's a shame, hopefully things will warm up during the day and everyone will get to visit.

Karlyne - I am thinking of using that as my new title - “Perthshire Susan” has a real ring to it! Thanks!

I hope everyone has a good holiday!

Critterbee, I'm watching for the Three Ships to come a-sailing in. Over the snow!

And I t’s the same in Scotland! Miserable and dreich!

Correct Teresa! Already a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc down, (not all by myself), and several chocolate treats. Cosy and warm! Hope your day is equally good!

OOOOH Teresa have fun!

I want to try this Quorn Roast that you are speaking of...

Yum! Pork roast!
How does this meat from your neighbor taste? If you have a guest who usually eats meat from the grocery store, would they notice a difference?

We are meant to be going to Auckland today - didn't feel like it before eating half a ton of food yesterday & now quite definitely don't feel like it!

Yes! Isn’t that the best gift?

Ok, if I ever make it to Idaho, I’m booking your spare room, Lady, sounds delish!
We are having steak, baked potatoes and salad...my husband uses a cast iron pan on the grill and steaks turn out very well! Plus, I still get fatigued, so this way he and our son can handle the cooking this year. I am hoping next year I have better balance and energy, Christmas has been very quiet this year- I’m just glad to be here!

Enjoy, Carol! Travel safe!

Stay inside, dry and cozy, and enjoy your wine!

Baked pasta and bread - yum!

Books - perfect gift!

I had to look it up too - I’ve learned something new today, thanks ladies, everyone enjoy!

That was two nights ago, and we made a more traditional dinner of ham, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, roast broccoli and roast brussels sprouts. We had about a dozen people eating, so the entire thing was one big blur. I think we made enough food for 30 people.

Books - perfect gift!"
I'd be happy with that. But our son got us a giant chilly bin which will be most useful. Our main present to him collapsed & broke when my husband sat in it, so we are going to return it on our way to Auckland.

Attagirl, relax, enjoy a fine dinner, wine and dream of books to come - and continue taking care of yourself!

That sounds heavenly- great kids, you fed everyone AND made her laugh, lovely!

That sounds like a lovely tour, and I am with you on the feast of the seven fishes - give me cookies or veggie lasagna any day.
