Andrea (bracket) | 3 comments I'm very excited to play Books on the Nightstand BINGO and have printed my card, but I could use some help thinking of a pick for the square "An alternate history". I've been thinking for a while, but keep coming up blank. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

M'Erin | 1 comments Fatherland by Robert Harris and Dominion by CJ Sansom spring to mind - both about the Nazis winning WWII. I can't think of a non-Nazi example at the moment, but I'm sure someone will chime in...

Rebecca | 11 comments I haven't read it but I've heard amazing things about 11/22/63 by Stephen King.

DeAnna | 38 comments I loved 11/22/63! There's a few spots where King indulges his love for "going for the gross-out," but it's really one of my favorite King novels.

Probably not when published, but maybe now.

Some science fiction tends to become alternate history as time goes on.

I think The Stand has become alternate history now.
