Sounds awful. My classroom has heating back, so this afternoon we were off-freezing. Tomorrow should be warm again. We had snow on Saturday, not a huge amount though.

message 103: by Lára (last edited Jan 20, 2016 11:55AM) (new)

Lára | 479 comments This week is very stressful. Exams and lots of questions in classes but little people show up to class, so couple of us are targeted. I have time for nothing. I just want to sleep.

I'm getting C's all the time. I need a drink, I believe.

Good luck Lara. I always hated exams. Revise but rest too, you won't work if exhausted.

So grumpy that works fail me. Well, not quite.

My digital box that does an almost excellent job of recording my many programs, that generally clash, so I can go to bed early enough to read has crashed. Sometimes it does but a technical switch off at the socket cheers it up.

This time nothing!!

It currently has 13 films, 7 complete series and 9 part series. Given somewhere in its innards.

With careful planning, I can catch up on 8, but the others... I can't say it :((((

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments So, another Non-Book-Related Rant...

We went to see Star Wars last night, at the "Discount Tuesday" showing. And Disney won't let theatres discount Star Wars tickets?!?!

"PUNY HUMAN! DISNEY DOESN'T LIKE GIVING DISCOUNTS ON MOVIE TICKETS!"

"Evil Empire" indeed.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Ooooooo.... and I was going to do that, too!
I have to admit.....it crossed my mind that they wouldn't discount Star Wars, though.

Well, not at the moment ... It's challenging, but so far I've been able to kind of muddle through. But we also haven't started actually doing things to it yet.

Lára | 479 comments My neighbor hates me. She once entered her balcony in the middle of the night and saw me gardening. Ever since then she hates me and no matter what I do (or don´t do), she's complaining. I´m growing garlic at the moment and I do water it at night and, as always, she´s against me. It´s like I´m doing some criminal bussines.

I´m in a seriously bad mood lately and don´t know how much I can take it. I want to plant trees.

That sucks... we used to have neighbors like that. They'd gossip about us and make fun of us, but they did it on their deck so we heard every word. I'm so glad we moved- our neighbors are so much nicer here.

Neighbours can be such a problem. You should have to provide references for them when selling a house ;)

Ordered cat litter, six huge sacks, last Thursday so it would arrive this week while I'm off. They've sent the wrong stuff! It's paper based so I can't use it as my long haired cat will go elsewhere. Complained, they're rushing my order, it's now due Monday while I'm working. In work til week after Easter so not much hope of receiving it! Cross.

message 121: by Ian (new)

Ian Hall | 169 comments I have become really grumpy lately. Everything annoys me at the moment. My job is getting really stressful. And I need a holiday. The books I'm reading are not seeming to grab me. My neighbours are loud and the weather is crap.

message 122: by Helen, I·ᴍ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪʙʀᴀʀʏ (new)

Helen | 3616 comments Mod
I totally sympathise over neighbour stuff. I've had one that let her grandchildren play football in the house and swore at me, even when I was out. My friend said the neighbour was in the garden just sitting at my house. Current neighbour's child is almost seven and likes to jump. Sometimes it sounds like she's upstairs in mine.

I need to go out to buy cat litter today, see my previous post, however I'm expecting two parcel deliveries so hoping they come early before the litter becomes kitchen floor!

message 127: by Maarit (new)

Maarit And once again I got a rejection letter saying: "The job was given to person X, thank you for your intrest". Though this time I actually got to the interview part, but still no good luck after that. Maybe someday, but I'm starting to think that it won't happen even then. I'm working now, though, but my contract ends soon and I'm unemployed again. I was unemployed about a year before I got this 6 month long contract, so I'm used to those rejection letters anyways, but I just don't like them.

Sorry to hear that..
I'm graduating in a few months and I'm starting to worry about the exact same thing.
I hope you find something before you contract is up.

message 132: by Lára (last edited Mar 24, 2016 08:55AM) (new)

Lára | 479 comments My betta fish, Agni, is angry with me. He always turns around when I come, while before he was always greeting me. I was feeding him in 7 o´clock then 12 and then 19 but I´ve changed it to 8, 13 and 21h because it´s more convenient for me, and now he´s turning me tail. It´s actually hilarious but I´m also pissed off.

Also, my canary is very perceptive and whenever I change my hair style, colour of my clother, or put the glasses on (anything, really) he´s staring at me like I´m some kind of lunatic. I kind explain this very well. He´s with me for a very long time and I know him and he knows me, but still whatever I do (like tie my hair) he´s acting very strange. It´s a "killer" or "have you lost your mind" look he´s giving me and it´s starting to get annoying.

Not to mention my aquatic snails! They´re eating my aquarium plants and I went to the other side of the city just to buy them the most qualitate food they´re supposed to eat. I really love them, but why must they be so rude :(

I ache! My neck aches from being left dangling over the hairdressers sink too wet to sit up. My back aches because it wants to. My knees ache because it's so wet all the time.

Just saying that when I'm in sunny Italy come Saturday, if some lovely rich guy wants me to stay - I'll have no choice. You'll be on your own!

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I get the ache. I've been aching day in , day out, for almost a month.
Actually, sometimes, it downright hurts. I've been told I am a pain minimizer. When I bend down to pick up something, the pain on my right side, (upper back) on a scale of 1 to 10, it's an 8.

It isn't fair is it! Arthritic knees and a sore foot are my main complaints. Come Saturday I'll be walking all over bits of Italy.

Never heard of pain minimiser.

That's too bad. I hope you have lots of fun and relax a little in Italy! In two weeks, I'm going to Europe for the first time and I'm super excited! Italy is unfortunately not on the itinerary, but I am going to 8 other countries :)

Nice! I've been to Austria and to England, but that's it so far. Someday.

For myself, I'm actually slightly less grumpy -- my arm (the one I broke at the beginning of February) is coming along much better than I had expected it to be. Still don't have full use, but every day is better than the last. And I discovered that I can use Amazon Prime Now to make cat litter and Diet Mountain Dew (my staples) magically appear on my doorstep.

Helen | 3616 comments Mod
I left Amazon and turned to pet planet for cat litter. They messed me about last year and this year upped the inconvenience. I resorted to buying locally but the stuff is so heavy to carry. They sent me recycled paper litter which mine won't use.

Glad the arms improving :)

message 139: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Thanks! I'm actually at the point right now where I probably could go back to throwing the odd 10 lb. bag of cat litter into my backpack and carrying it home, but the Amazon thing is just so darned convenient, and not a whole lot more expensive ...

message 140: by Helen, I·ᴍ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ʟɪʙʀᴀʀʏ (new)

Helen | 3616 comments Mod
Yeah, mine went up in price from £7 to £12 hence the change. I'm buying sacks from the pet shop, £4 for 10ltrs. Only have to carry them up the street. I should use my backpack.

message 141: by Squire (new)

Squire (srboone) I have a hotel full of Beiber-heads that I am dealing with tonight! If you've never dealt with them before, pray you never have to. The only nice thing is that kids don't want you to tell their parents anything, so they are relatively easy to keep under control. But there are so damn many of them!

At least none of them have tried to sneak in a cat......

I'm a teacher, you have my deepest sympathy. My maths lesson fell apart last year when one girl started sobbing - one direction had lost a person!

message 143: by Squire (new)

Squire (srboone) One Direction, that concert was last year--before some one left the band. Another nightmare. Kids running around all night (where were their parents?) and singing OD tunes.

More a mental stresser than a physical one, but I was glad to see a shiny happy smiling person into relieve me at 7am!

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Evidently, parents believe we are getting a paycheck to babysit as well.

I'm in retail, and the parents seem to leave the kids in the toy area like it's daycare.
Of course, it is also our job to clean up after them.
Makes me boil!

So I had a fabulous holiday in Italy; saw Pisa, Florence, Rome, Naples and Pompeii. Caught the sun, okay I burnt my shoulders. Saw the most amazing art and monuments. Are the most amazing pizzas and pasta. I even beat the other right fitbitters on the weekly step challenge, I passed 116000 steps!

Then I return to northern England. Rain, cold, hail. It's blinking April! Plus for some reason I have to do all the cooking.
