Cats, you know how particular they are, right? I have to get a particular brand of cat litter, cats make convincing, messy arguments. To make matters worse, since moving I have to get it online as nowhere near stocks it. Hey, positive thinking, that means I don't have to carry it though.

The company use a courier who only deliver on weekdays. I'm a teacher, my weekdays at home are rare and and months apart.

I order litter, it has a two day delivery shot so order Thursday arrive Monday. Brilliant, first day off. Oh, it's bank holiday. Still, it worked. I arrived home Tuesday and the delivery came. They brought two of six sacks. The others are on a different can, why???

At 4am tomorrow, I go away for the rest of the school break, woohoo etc, still no sign of the litter. The company said we'll look into it, but it might come next week now. My next work day home is 28.7.15!

Grumpy!

message 2: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments I changed the litter on Wednesday, was unhappy to find a puddle on the mat outside the litterbox yesterday, but had to retract my finding of fault when I discovered that I had accidentally reassembled the litter box in such a way that the entry flap couldn't actually be opened.

Kat My cat was taught from day one to go outside to pee. This was on purpose, because I'm lazy and don't want a stinking box in the house - that's what pet flaps are for. He only uses the litterbox if he's locked in and there's nobody to let him out. Even then he rather squeezes his knees together as long as possible.

Downside is, we now live in a house without a cat flap (and I'm not allowed to install one), so he has no qualms about waking me up at 3 am to have me open the front door so he can relieve himself in the shrubbery outside. Because the box is for emergencies only, and a sleeping owner clearly does not count as a reason.

message 5: by Heather (new)

Heather (bruyere) My cat is only picky about wet food. It took me 6 months to find one brand she likes. So annoying.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I have a cat door, also. Recently adopted an older cat, however.
She doesn't get it yet.

For some reason she misses the cat pan. So got a lid.

But still misses it??? Annoyed at new kitty.

Making my house stinky.

That has happened to me because my cat didn't know how to open the flap that comes on the covered litterboxes. I have since gotten in the habit of removing those flaps.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Yup...had to remove the flap.

message 9: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments My immediate cause for concern: One of the boys had recently gotten over a UTI (or something along those lines), and I was really worried he might have picked up some negative associations with the box.

But nope. Just me being an idiot.

That's good, because they definitely can go from medical caused inappropriate urination to behavioral, and it sucks dealing with that!

message 11: by Heather (new)

Heather (bruyere) The experts tend to say that going outside the box is more displeasure related. But with what? :)

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Well..lots of issues around here.
Could be any in my case.

And maybe it's the other cat. Haven't actually caught anyone.

message 13: by Heather (new)

Heather (bruyere) I know Jackson Galaxy always says you need one box per cat. I've been lucky to never have a litter fussy cat. Lots of food fussy though.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 47 comments Actually it's one per cat plus one. That's kind of hard if you have lots of cats. It can be due to multifactorial reasons.

So far I've been lucky enough to manage with just the one for the two of them; but I think they were littermates, which might help ...

Lol. I usually use two but had three set up for while I was away. Now I want to get rid of the old box but Izzy can't use flaps which are on the other two so I guess I'll be removing it shortly!

message 18: by Heather (new)

Heather (bruyere) So, I have a question. Do you warm up canned kitty food that has been in the fridge?

Sore throat for two days.

message 26: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Ick. I had some kind of random respiratory crud for a couple of weeks in September; fortunately, it was just irritating, not debilitating. Hope yours is much the same.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I'm ticked off, that I came home from work, on a beautiful day, and proceeded to fall asleep for 4 hours. Slept like the dead, until several phone calls and various alarms finally made me peel my eyes open.

Tomorrow???? The weather turns cold.
:(

Does it work with Goodreads?

I often take it as............I'm not supposed to post that, and give up.

But I'm still annoyed!

On another note, the gas man came serviced the boiler then left. Then I discovered there was no water or heating. Fortunately, I discovered the switch was off :)

Cold!

message 42: by Maarit (last edited Nov 07, 2015 08:49AM) (new)

Maarit In here it's not cold, it's just damp and moist and pretty warm even though it's already November. Normally there would already have been some snow in the ground (even if it has eventually melted away) and the temperature is under -0 Celcius or pretty close to it, but not this year, atleast not yet. I hate the cold, but I'd like to have some snow in the ground anyway, because it's so (way too) dark outside without it and the darkness falls in already around 3.30PM or so and mornings are also dark as hell as the sun rises around 8AM (currently) and every day the morning starts little bit later and evening comes earlier :(. I miss summer.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I turned the heat on.

Where do you live Maarit? I was going to turn my heart in but the thermostat says 18.5. I'm convinced it's colder so I've moved it to see. As soon as it's acclimatised I'll put it on.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I'm grumpy.
I grabbed my paper towel roll, and proceeded to watch it roll out across the room.....on the floor!

Opened fridge to get eggs and saw I bought a DIET drink instead of regular.
I loath diet.

Ew, saccharine.

I left my memory stick in school and don't have copies of planning on my computer. Decided not to bother doing it as don't have spare memory stick handy even if I do it from scratch.

It's torrential rain outside and some of my gutter blew off Friday so now rain is smacking the window :(

message 49: by Maarit (new)

Maarit @Helen: Finland. Normally the weather around this time is colder in days, meaning it's close to 0 Celcius or sligtly under it, but now the weather has been very warm for November. Meaning that in the last few weeks the temperature has been between +5 up to +10 Celcius in my region and even warmer in south and nights have also been warmer than usual. Normally the weather would have been slightly colder during days and very much colder during nights. So one must wait for snow a while longer and the sunshine is also gone, so currently it's grey, dull and very dark in the evenings outside.

The heat has been increased already in October, which had a few very cold days. It's included in our rent, so we can keep it on 24/7/365, though during summer time it's kept in a minimum setting, just enough that the house doesn't get damp. So winter can come, but I still hope it won't get too cold meaning temperature getting under -15 Celcius and more, but it will happen sooner or later and I hate weather that cold. But it's still better than -25, which can happen, too.

Much cooler than me then. Since moving my thermometer, my house is actually warmer at the temperature it was supposedly at before.
