Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Please nominate a book for the June BOM

The Guidelines
1. Each member can nominate one book.
2. Please restrict your nomination to UF, PNR, Sci-fi, Fantasy or Steampunk genre
3. No need to ensure the book is first or second in a series but be mindful that if it is a person is new to the series they can still follow along reasonably well.
4. Please give both the title and author when suggesting or use the link so I can make sure the correct book is chosen.
5. If you are an author you cannot nominate your own book.
6. Please check the BOM History to make sure you don't pick a book that has already been featured

Nominations will end May 30

Lauren (laurenjberman) I usually keep quite about these things but this time it is so blatant that I simply cannot let it pass....

Three nominations of the same book by three users who have never posted in the group before .... hmmm.... :0(

Yes, just a little too obvious!!! And with the Amazon link rather than the GR one!

I think that book will be gone!!!!!!

message 9: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks Sandra.
Counter-productive strategy, lol!

Tina Bartz | 678 comments For what it is worth, I did find this on Goodreads (Damon).
Damon (The Protectors, #1) by Teresa Gabelman . It looked good and I added it to my TBR list. It is the first in a series of six currently with #7 on the way. It has over 300 reviews and over 2700 ratings (4.1 stars) and the author has 600 followers. I haven't read her before but I do have an anthology that she is in so I think I will read that first to see how I like it before I jump into a new series.

I love this series! (That said, I did nominate a different book I have been wanting to read.)

Leigh | 1219 comments I have read Damon (The Protectors, #1) by Teresa Gabelman and thought it was good. It was one of the first reviews I did when I joined goodreads.

Paranormal Bromance - Carrie Vaughn

sounds fun and I would like to read it!

message 15: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments That makes 4 spammings. Denise obviously didn't read the thread!!!

I'm never gonna read a spam book, regardless of whether it is any good or not. I also checked it out on Amazon, especially as all these 'nice' spammers gave me the link. It looked OK and I might have read it before it became spam.

Leslie Caramels (thefrenchgirl) | 11 comments Dead Ice (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter)
Note this book is not out until June 9 2015

http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Anita-Blak...

message 17: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sophieg13) | 9 comments I know someone recommended Dead Ice but I actually just started re-reading the entire Anita Blake series which I haven't done in a long time and I'm so happy I have. I'm not sure if you are only supposed to recommend new releases or not but in case you can vote for an older book I vote for Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton

Gnome Claire *Wishes she was as cool as Gnome Ann* | 20 comments I'd like to suggest Hounded (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne by Kevin Hearne, I read a short story by him last week and it reminded me how much I love this series (that's book one there)

message 19: by Iris (new)

Iris (ipro) | 5 comments I've been sick and MIA for months (it was a brutal winter that I hope never to repeat again. lol) so this is the first time I'm doing this, which is why I'm apologizing in advance if I'm doing it wrong. lol

I'd like to nominate Dust of My Wings (Dante's Circle, #1) by Carrie Ann Ryan Dust of my Wings by Carrie Ann Ryan. It's one of my favorite books that I keep going back to over and over again.

message 20: by Tani (new)

Tani | 1 comments Just finished all three books in the Throne of glass series, and I have grown to love the story and the characters within. So I would like to nominate A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.
Peace out, good people of GR!

I've just downloaded Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic (The Dowser, #1) by Meghan Ciana Doidge by Meghan Ciana Doidge and I'd like to nominate it.

It's the first book in her Dowser series, I've only read her standalone book Loves Lies Bleeding so this is new to me but I like her style...

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Sorry for the delay guys. Work has been completely insane and I am like forgetting everything.

Damon (The Protectors, #1) by Teresa Gabelman will not part of the voting for the BOM the way it was presented looked fishy so if anyone wants to read it I totally suggest a buddy read.

Thanks for all the comments about the book though!

This one is a little to far into the series and while I am not up on this series I would be concerned it is not a stand alone.

Perhaps a buddy read?

Thanks, Dawn. I was so sick I was literally under quarantine. My eyes hurt so bad I couldn't read! Luckily I discovered audio books or I'd have gone nuts. lol

Sandra | 4734 comments That's terrible Iris! Glad you're feeling better now.

And yay for audio books!!!

message 36: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments @Iris
Yikes I am really glad to hear you are doing better and like Sanda YAY for audio books. Funny how a few years ago audio books were hard to get and they kind of sucked now you can get most books in audio and the production is quite good.
