publication date query

[Gnome Claire *Wishes she was as cool as Gnome Ann*]

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... is a kindle edition of alice in wonderland and it has the publication date set as 1865, the ASIN didn't link through to anything so I was wondering should I leave the date of publication as is (because it's the work the kindle edition is taken from) or remove it (because clearly no kindles were available in 1865)?

But it looks like the Kindle edition actually became available in 2014, so I changed that edition's pub date.
