Even though they could not say the words, their love was still apparent after the five years of separation. I don't think either of them actually would have settled for "benefits" only, even if they seem to have agreed to this for fear of letting the other know the depth of their love.Of course, when reading Romantic Suspense, the reader knows that the couple will reconcile, so it's hard to forget the HEA is on the horizon!
I especially liked how they related to each other. In the short time they were together, they established some deep, meaningful connections. It's why Honor was able to communicate honestly and with forthright when they were reunited. There was no game playing here, which was refreshing. I loved how they talked things out, even though he dragged his feet acknowledging his love for her. Loved their relationship and their romance.
What I liked about them is there's no misunderstanding that was created. The reasons for their breakup was laid out, both sides were hurt. When they were reunited, it was a slow but intense. The five years apart made their desire stronger since neither one could forget the other. I really enjoy the progression of their romance, it felt real.
