13 Bullets: A Vampire Tale - David Wellington

This book isn't my usual vampire fare, since I tend to prefer the more cultured vampires. In 13 Bullets, the vampires are monsters with no control around blood, ruthless killers, and pretty darn creepy.

The book focuses on a youngish female state trooper who is unwittingly pulled into the world of vampire hunting while working a routine sweep for drunk drivers.

Apparently this is the first of a series, which makes sense considering the lack of wrap-up. I might read some of the following ones, but haven't decided quite yet.
