M.E. Vaughan Hi!
I'm looking for some Historical Fiction works which have faeries, or elements of folklore, which set between the medieval-reneissance era in England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland.

The book can explicitly have faeries, or just nod in their direction. (Like in Outlander.) This can also include Celtic-orientated witchcraft.

I am fine if the faeries are portrayed as either susperstition, or whether the books are magic realism.

This is for my studies, and so I would be indebted to anyone who has any suggestions.

Sunda The Mists of Avalon comes to mind. Good luck.

Thank you!

Yvette Maybe not in your timeframe, but The Onyx Court by Marie Brennan came to my mind. Hope this helps!

Georgiana Derwent Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell is set in the 19th century (so actually closer to the setting of Outlander than a medieval period book would be) but does a brilliant job of mixing together real history with folklore, fairies and alternative history.

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
