ABANDONED. Book about two girls in dual timelines who can talk to each other.

Hello! I'm trying to find a book about two girls who live in two different time periods. I read it when I was in middle school, so between 2006-08. It starts out with one of the girls -- the one from the past -- pretending to be a psychic so she can get more money for her and her father. But when she's in the middle of one of her 'seances,' she actually hears someone -- the girl who lives in the present. The two of them can talk to each other though they live in different times, which causes the girl from the present to be diagnosed with schizophrenia. It's found out at the end of the book that they are actually related to each other, though they're separated by a couple of generations. I have been trying to find this book for a couple of years now, and I wish I could! Can any of you help me? Thank you!!

Haunting Violet by Alyxandra Harvey is somewhat similar and more recent, with the fake psychic girl being from the present.

Kim, can you tell us more about the two girls, their families, backgrounds, etc.?

What's their locations and time periods?

I can't remember too much more. The girl from the present I know has problems with her family, which is how she was able to make contact with the girl from the past to begin with, because she was hiding in her closet and asking for help. But other than that, not really anything else. I felt like the girl from the past lived in the 1700-1800s, and I think the book took place in New York, or around New York, both past and present. Does that help?
