Did you just add this book? It will take time for the book to get indexed and show up in a search result. Until then, it can't be added to the series (at least I don't know a way around this), not without an ASIN or ISBN to search instead.
How did you manage to add it without it showing up in the search results?
Wondering the same thing, also for the Ghost Dance book in another thread.
I went to the author page...if it's has no ISBN/ASIN, I put title & author name in search, unless some caching issue, usually it's come up with something... :)

in the edit page for series, after "add books" menu, I put "title[space]author name", and the book showed...
