On 49,50,49 we probably should try to get some non mods on because otherwise are going to get to 0 pretty fast.
She seems great, but I think there should be a rule about how many comments you've posted before applying. That was her first post.
Messages to the whole group to promote them. Also, promoting everything else there is in the group. I think that would raise activity a lot.
You know, all of that is a bit much. It'd be like forcing it down their throats. Do you want to send a message promoting the games? Since you've been in charge of the games.
Hey I'm thinking of getting a poll up and running for sep group reads voting? Too early? What do you think?
Hey I've just kind of looked at the discussion and three things: I'm not going to put up the last book nominated, it only has 9 reviews and no description on goodreads so hm, do you want the hobbit nominated as well as LOTR? and I was thinking of throwing in a couple of books to beef up the selection (maybe Inkheart by Cornelia Funke and Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult?)
Yeah, I agree you should put both the Hobbit and LotR. Inkheart and Between the Lines are both great ideas too. Did you see Brooklyn's nomination for A Great & Terrible Beauty? It looks really interesting.
Forgot to say! I ended up leaving the hobbit out, partially because I forgot (don't ask how) but a choice of four is probably a good number anyway
Hey, guys. I was thinking the each of us could be in charge of something in the group. So, Beth is in charge of games, Kirstie is in charge of polls (since that's how seems to be going), and I'm in charge of discussions. What do you two think?
And I enjoy making topics :) I'm liking how this group is turning out, none of my other groups have been this successful.
Hey guys, just checking in: a new folder is up for November nominations, October's are closed & deleted and the poll is open - there are 5 books (one of my own picking, we're still not getting many suggestions but many more votes for September came in so hopefully that keeps up). Two books, A Great and Terrible Beauty and The Lord of the Rings, have been voted in for September reading as I think it'd be good to still have a reading choice (one of the other groups I'm in does about 8 books a months which means you can select the one that appeals to you and be able to discuss so I think, personally, a selection is good, but we'll see). Poll voting is closing on 12th sep for October poll so once one is selected people have time to get the book from the library, borrow it from a friend or buy it. He forums for the September books are frozen at the moment and I'll open them up when we begin reading them as a group. I think that's all from me :)
Hey all - I was wondering if you guys would be up for changing the backdrop photo for the group every once in a while to shake it up? Totally fine if you want to keep it as is, just thought variation might be fun :) what do you think?
Oh, I figured that. I really like that picture, but if you think differently then we can find another. That is if Kirstie thinks the same.
Okay, after several attempts I've managed to find a backdrop I like - what do you guys think? And in regards to the thumbnail I do like that photo and I'm happy to leave it if you want but change is always fun too :) but if you don't want to change it yet Elizabeth then we can leave it :)
The backdrop is great! As for the thumbnail, let's leave it for now. I fell in love with it when I found it.
Hi guys. I was thinking about having a discussion post on book trailers and we could have a vote on our favorite one each month what do you think?
