Madeleine This is driving me crazy. My first impulse, based on how it was spelled out, was like a southern twang, but getting further into it i'm pretty sure is was like heavy Australian. I'm not 100% sure...what accent did you guys think they had?

Abby I'm not sure an Australian accent would make since but for some reason I picture them with a Germen accent

I am Australian and I am telling you their accent is NOT Australian.... If it was Aussie, they'd be saying mate and on 'ya a lot more... haha :P

I always thought like an American, hill billy accent.

Samira western

Cassidy I think it was old english slang with a hint of southern. Kinda makes sense. But i dont really know! :)

Sasha I think it was a old southern\western slang.

☽Ƹɱɱɑ☾ I always thought hillbilly slang, too! That's probably why I couldn't finish it--it's hard to have a main character who talks like a hick in your head, right y'all?

Cassidy True, but it's soooo good! The only thing that drove me bonkers was the lack of quotation marks xD lol

Sasha At first it was difficult to understand what they were saying and when they were talking and when they stopped talking, but after the first 20 pages I got used to the it. The only problem... now whenever I read in my head sometimes I read with an accent.

Lexa I'd say southern...

Emma I'm pretty sure it is an Appalachian (US) accent. I am from the Appalachian area. This is commonly known as the "hillbilly" accent.

It's funny that you say this, since there are some theories that the Appalachian accent is heavily influenced by Elizabethan (Shakespearean) English (I'm guessing that is what you meant, since Old English is practically a different language), preserved by the isolation of the mountain folk.
