Book starts with the heroine returning to her parents house after divorcing her abusive husband (he ended up causing her to miscarry). She rejoins the force that practically her entire family works for. Her brother's best friend becomes her partner (and the hero). Their first case is to investigate the murder of a streetwalker. Through the investigation, they find out the girl works for a Mr. Big. The heroine also has a little bit of psychic ability, where she can touch something and see/feel the past. I can't remember the title or the author but GAH I want to read that book
