Dolores Umbridge, I'm curious to see how she handles being the defense against the dark arts teacher. Also, whether she's a good person or in cahoots with Voldemort. I have a feeling it'll be the latter.

Even though it upset Harry, at first, I'm glad that Ron was made prefect. I think he'll do a better job with it and that it'll make he be more serious.

Sirius's house was creepy! The house elf - sheesh! At least elves are bound to keep their master's secrets as long as they are with them.

I loved the fireworks Fred and George set off, they were hilarious! And how all the teachers called Umbridge to deal with them, because they weren't sure if they had the authority...lol! Loved it! That woman is terrible!

I like how Dumbledore took the blame for DA, and can't wait to see how it will be resolved, because I can't believe he'll stay in hiding forever. (hide spoiler)]

Malfoy is definitely up to something, and I'm sure it's nothing good. though maybe him cursing Harry was his way of not completing whatever task he'd been asked to do that's so dangerous?

Dumbledore's Army definitely helped them pass defense against the dark arts. I hope they continue it, since I found those scenes very enjoyable in the previous book.

I love how Fred and George's shop is such a success and how Mr. Filch had Dumbledore announce that their products are banned on school grounds...haha. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[Ugh, Fleur is so annoying! I feel badly for the Weasleys having to deal with her...though she does seem to make Bill happy.

It's fun, and sad, watching Hermione and Ron bicker and fight over almost everything all because they , or Ron, can't see the feelings they have for each other.

I'm not sure about Snape, but he did make the Unbreakable Vow with Malfoy's mother so maybe it should be obvious where his loyalties lie. (hide spoiler)]

What strikes me as strange when starting this book for the first time in about a decade is how it seems to be a children’s book. “Seems” is the key word here. Because I know it’s not. I never thought of the Harry Potter books as “children’s books”. I read the first 5 when I was in graduate school, at a time when I didn’t read fiction. At all. And I hadn’t read fiction in over a decade.

I had attended wedding in Switzerland and, as I was about to leave for the airport back to California, the bride’s roommate pushed this book in my hands to read on the plane: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I am not sure if I would have continued to read beyond the prologue if I hadn’t been on a plane, alone and with nowhere to go. But soon after the prologue I was sucked into a world of magic, heroes, and villains, of mystery and intrigue, of children developing inner-strength and overcoming inner-demons. I immediately identified with the character of Harry Potter – he reminded me of me. The me I had been in elementary school. The me I still was.

Not once did I consider this a children’s book.

But now having started The Prisoner of Azkaban again a decade later, I realize that the first three HP books all start this way – deceptively child-like. I’ve read this book at least five times, so I know that there is so much more here than the introductory paragraphs convey. I’m so excited to get back into the game.

I think the fact that Harry gave Ron confidence is just so cute, but we also get to see Hermione start to love Ron in it and we get annoyed by Lavender Brown and it's all just so good. Now I won't say this often, but some parts the films added in really would have been brilliant in the book, for example "These girls are going to kill me," or the bit at Hagrids with the pincher noises! That is my favourite scene in film history, I won't lie.
