Here's the description:

Light Horse Dark Horse is an allegorical series of four children’s books written and illustrated by Lavay Byrd. Based on the New Testament of the Bible, the series is set in a fictional world called Equus, and the characters are all horses, zebras, ponies and donkeys. (Or equines).
Long ago, the equines of Equus were faithful followers of their Creators, the Divine Ones. But when the evil Dark Horse tricked the equines into rejecting the Divine Ones, they were cursed to live forever as the Dark Horse’s slaves. However, it has been prophesied that the Light Horse— the Second Divine One— will free the equines from the Curse, defeat the Dark Horse, and rule Equus as its eternal King.
