What was the worst part of the movie?

It wasn't long enough, which is always a problem when you abridge books but I felt that LT suffered for it more than most.

PERCY BEING 16 AND THE THING WITH GROVER'S HORNS
They're all so old!!!! they'll be 50 by the time the last movie comes out!
I was just so mad that they couldn't even get Annabeth right! In the book she has blond, curly hair. Why did they have a girl with black straight hair play her? At least die and curl her hair!

The entire movie was so inaccurate that it's impossible to pick the "worst part." But the worst thing was how horridly they screwed up the plot.
Omigosh Annabeth was totally different!! Get her hair and eyes right! Lol and did anyone imagine Grover black? :/ And the whole thing with Luke was totally different... so annoying.
They freaking Idiot-ized the whole book, making it look like a petty fantasy movie.They cut out important parts, and Annabeth was supposed to be blond and is it too much to ask for appropriate ages?
They were WAY too old in the movie...HOW ON EARTH ARE THEY GOING TO DO THE GREAT PROPHECY!!!!???????!!!!!!!

You know thinking about it, how much better would it be if they were to start again with a nice long animated series? HP worked so well because Rowling did the adaptation herself (she even wrote new sections and dialogue for them) and they cast an incredibly strong adult supporting cast to make up for the problems with casting children who were the right age and looked like the characters they were cast as.
With LT they went the other way with what is known as the Dawson's creek trope (see also; grease)and it just failed monumentally, mostly because the one thing young adults *hate* the most is when adults assume they are stupid and treat them like idiots. I don't think anyone who has seen it didn't think that this was a obvious attempt by a studio, that just didn't care about the books, to make HP levels of money.
Lol the entire movie was awful - I went with somebody who hadn't read the book and they walked away hating the entire story. In my mind any movie that can do that has to be flop.

Ugh, Annabelle has brunette hair and doesn't have her hat. Also the fact that grover is the complete opposite of what he's supposed to be really mad me mad.

The worst part is the actors ages. ( PS is anyone who read the Last Apprentice series sad that the same thing has happened to those too?) I doubt they will finish making the Percy Jackson series, let alone the Heroes of Olympus.
How the movie barley followed the book. There were only a few similarities between the book and movie. Also the whole thing with Percy being 16 because the whole great prophecy is going to be messed up. Also the brunette Annabeth... that defiantly bugged me the most.

I just dislike the whole movie It is totally a different story and that percy should be a lot younger than the actor... Love the book and hate the movie
All the dits different from the book
The whole movie just made me want to go hop on a plain to Hollywood and pelt the director with The Lightning Thief, as it seems he doesn't own a copy. The worst part: Annabeth. SHE HAS STRAIGHT BROWN HAIR!!!!!!!! The first thing I think of when I picture Annabeth, is curly blond hair. HELLO PEOPLE! CURLY BLOND!
First off the camp was nothing like how the book described. Second the Hermes boots= STUPID. Third the "minotaur" didnt even have any ANY human characteristics. Fourthly, (not to be mean to african-americans) I dont think any of us expected grover to be african american.
If they had just changed the characters' names, the mc's god-parent, and the title of the movie, it'd be a whole freaking different movie.Where were all the run-in's before they got to Hell? matter of fact, was that even hell they went to? It looked like a volcano amusement park.
Wasn't Grover a redhead in the books?????
Ok to me, Annabeth was a combination of Clarisse and herself which made her seem like a big time jerk. Luke was just not notable and drool worthy liked described in the book. I mean you want some real competition for Percy, come on! Grover seemed a bit too old but he was ok and I think Percy was a pretty good pick other than the age. The camp truly sucked, it was just plain normal. I was expecting like walking into a whole new world kind of thing! And was it me or does Hera and Medusa look like the same person!?
I never saw it and never wanted to. Too many things were different, and I didn't want to lose the image the book had created in my head.
Hmm..........The worst part of the movie. Was the whole movie. Why do I say this? First, they were around four or five years older. Second, the camp oh the camp, horror all over totally different, the cabins, training, and the lake. Third, whats up with the whole medusa thing, creepy. Fourth, the Olympians they were just flat out weird. Fifth, umm, what was up with the opening and the whole fisherman and him walking out of the ocean, I mean that was strange.
Over all that was the worst movie book portal I have ever seen in my life.
in the book they were in like sixth grade and in the movie they were so much older.

I <3 Greek mythology, and I thought the whole Percy Jackson series was so clever.
It seemed like the movie was counting on the idea that no one read the book. Just not a faithful representation at all.
EVERYTHING IS WRONG WITH THAT MOVIE. Sure, if you haven't read the book, you would probably enjoy the movie, but the list is so long that I'm not even going to start going down it. (The people above me have already taken care of that)
I the part I hate about the move is that in the first capture the flag, Annebeth wasn't on Percy's team while in the book she was on his team. :(

The terrible thing in that movie was that Annabeth wasn't a blonde and it goes on and on in the book about how Percy sees Annabeth and instantly falls in love with her BLONDE hair! I think the plot line was good just the actresses were a little messed up!

Long answer short, no clearly at no point did anyone but the screenwriter ever read a copy of this book.
The whole movie was TERRIBLE! I was freaking out as I watched it.1. Annabeth is supposed to be blonde, and Percy needs black hair and green eyes.
2. Percy wasn't claimed.
3. Annabeth never has that moment with Percy in the animal car where they really talk for the first time
4. PERCY NEVER JUMPS OFF THE ST. LOUIS ARCH. that drove me nuts.
5. Their is no bully problem at his boarding school.
6. There is no blue food, which is a minor detail, but still made me sad.
7. The whole starting of the quest isn't done right. Hades doesn't appear in the middle of camp.
8. The pearl things drove me crazy. They only traveled across the country to get to the Underworld. The pearls were given to them. They didn't have to find them.
8. They never went to Nashville.
9. LUKE DIES, WHICH RUINS THE CHANCE OF MAKING ANOTHER MOVIE. THE WHOLE "BETRAY PERCY THING" WAS DONE WRONG>
I know I missed a lot by I was rushed.
All in all, the movie was terrible. The action was cool, but the whole "following the book part stunk.
I actually went to see it twice to make sure it wasn't just myself that was the problem. And then I talked myself into buying the DVD, you know, months after maybe it would be better...but NO. Immense failure on the whole studio's part. If failure was a solid object I would be punching the writers and producers in the face with it. Dishonor on your whole family!The fight with Ares, the chimera on the St.Louis Arch, the Camp, Percy's relationship with his mom. And Grover WTF? EVERYTHING WAS SO WRONG.
I hated the Las Vegas scene with a passion. There is no heart, no wit to this movie.
I hope someone who actually both read and loved the series will reboot it because The Heroes of Olympus is an amazing spin-off.I will be waiting patiently.
Medusa I would never picture her looking like that (I imagined it more scary). I also didn't like that Annebeth's hair was brown in the movie and blonde in book.

the whole movie was terrible. half the things in the book were modified or not even in the movie! #1 annabeth is blonde, #2, the actors were horrible. ugh, especially percy. worst actor ever.

I cared less about Annabeth's hair and more about the fact that they totally ruined her character, although I did wish they had cast a blonde girl. and preferably someone who was the right age.I just think they totally crapped all over the book, this could have been a long series of movies that followed the books and uhg it's so disappointing. I couldn't even go into all the problems with it without it being like 50 pages long.
ha easy. annabeth's hair (i want blond!) and her stupid lines! she wasnt a bad actress her lines were just terribleand over all the whole movie... yep pretty much.
