It's hard to ask for the name of this book without it involving a spoiler (apologise in advance) - it's a first novel by a female writer (American) which I believe was published in the last five years. I understand it received excellent reviews. It's about a young woman, just about to graduate from High School & enter University who lives with her father (a University professor), and whose mother passed away when she was a small child. Through a series of events, the father is revealed to both us (the reader) and the young woman, as a man who holds some unconventional political views (which we understand, he has acted upon, in the past). It's an amazing book - and I would love to read it again - and - would especially like to find out if the first time novelist (in her twenties, when she wrote this book) has had any other books published since this one.

That's it - Thank you!! - Got it out of the 'international library' when I was living in Japan - definitely one worth purchasing.
You're welcome! I loved that book, too. It looks like the author, Marisha Pessl, has her second book coming out in August.
