Rasnac | 336 comments If that new movie is some sort of badly veiled "Wrath of Khan" adaptation, I will be so dissapointed. This series is a new beginning for Star Trek; what's wrong with telling all original, new stories; creating new exciting characters?

Doesn't look like it is going to be a veiled "Wrath of Khan" retelling. As in this timeline they haven't even met Kahn.

But from Cumberbatch's character name it sounds like it will deal with the Genetically Manipulated humans just like Kahn. Looks to me as if Cumberbatch is a Warlord Criminal akin to Kahn and instead of trying to take over the Enterprise, like in SpaceSeed from TOS, he goes fully for Earth or the like.
