Thanks Cathie! This makes picking books a little easier! I didn't realise the Stephen King one is part of a series so I will have to look out for that!
Great choice! I'm looking forward to read them :) And evry single one of them is in my local library so ;) I didn't know that StephenKing wrote a series neither.

The Stephen King series is "The Dark Tower" series. There are 8 books total now. The one we are reading The Wind Through the Keyhole is number 4.5 in the series, but books 1-7 have been out for a while, so if you like it, you can continue with books 5-7 later.

Thanks! Question about the Heroes of Olympus series. Do I need to read the Percy Jackson series before reading this one? I haven't read Percy Jackson yet so I wasn't sure.
Kathleen, I haven't read the Percy Jackson books and I'm enjoying the Heroes of Olympus series. You could read them, but so far it's not been difficult to follow. :)
There is a lot of references to Percy (and other characters) which did make me want to read them and now I have started. However you can still follow the Heroes of Olympus fine without it.
It sure does get you to read more than probably what you planned to, lol, Christine. I agree, they all seem to be wonderful reads :-)
Wow, there are a lot of books! I better get started with the Heroes of Olympus series, because The Mark of Athena is March's read. I've already read the Fifty Shades and Divergent series, but I'll join the discussion when you start :)
I'm looking forward to listening to your thoughts Cin:-). (You're ahead of me in the readings, so don't fret too much :-)
For anyone that is interested, I just found out that there is a short story that is a prequel to the Dark Tower series. :)
The Little Sisters of Eluria (The Dark Tower 0.5) is the book, but it's numbered, limited edition, signed by the illustrator....very hard to get without paying quite a bit. It includes an expanded version of The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1), which would be very cool. But, it's out of my price range for a book.
However, the short story itself can be found in the book Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales. So, anyone that would like to read it can read it there. :)
I'm very excited that I found this. Supposedly, it is a prequel to the Dark Tower series and helps the reader to better understand Roland (the main character). I read the Dark Tower series many years ago and, if I have time, I'm going to try to read them again along with the series challenge. I am planning to read the short story in July before the series begins. Thought I'd share in case anyone else wants to read it too.

Kristie, thanks for sharing with your finding. I just got the copy of Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales and I'm going to read it before I start the Dark Tower series, which I haven't read yet. It's going to be helpful to have a prequel :)

Glad you found it useful! I'm looking forward to reading it, but I'm waiting until the series read gets closer.

I'm reading this one too, when it gets closer to the series. I knew about this one, but because it is a very short story amongst other ones I made the decision not to include it in the series read. The Dark Tower Series is the longest series we'll be reading and I didn't want to overwhelm people. I'll add this when the time gets closer as a suggested read for those who want to read it. Thank you Kristie for letting others know about it :-)

This is great. I am a little ahead of schedule (thank goodness) I've just finished Wizard and Glass this morning. I'm taking a little dark tower break and will pick back up after I read Never Let Me Go and a couple Dexter books.

I started it years ago (before I knew about dark tower) and never finished it. Now i wish i had.
Thanks, Cathie! I'll be on the 5th Dexter book (series not as good as the show imo.. unusual ay) so I'm looking forward to that. I'm on Never Let Me Go now... the Audio book. Interesting.. different so far for sure.

I hope posting this schedule will help everyone in selecting their books with plenty of time. (Sometimes library waiting lists can be very long, especially for best selling reads.) You don't have to read with us during the selected month. If you read a book before we do the group read, please join us in discussing what you think about the book, the characters, plot, etc.
(The only series read I have missed is The Walking Dead Volume 16: A Larger World. To tell you the truth, I just don't know how to incorporate 15 reads into our reading schedule!! :-). I figured with this book (it's a graphic novel) being #16 in the series, most people who are interested in this winning read will already have read the previous volumes...so sorry guys there will be no series read leading up to this winning Choice Award book.)
