Message box re proving age & group participation...

For my Southern Lit Lovers group here on goodreads, (which I created back in 2008), a message box has been appearing as of today indicating members must put their age in their profiles to prove they are at least 18 in order to continue participating in my group. I had to do so for my own profile (then selected 'show to no one') before I was able to participate in a group I created and moderate!

Trying to figure out what's going on here! Is this something new goodreads is doing for all groups??

Yes (librarians don't have any control over groups, by the way; I just happened to see that thread this morning).

Big brouhaha about this today because the change was unannounced. More detail available in the Goodreads Feedback group.
