Félix (habitseven) Beautiful boy.

message 53: by Susan (last edited Jan 31, 2013 06:03PM) (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Awww, guys!

Dubs, that is hilarious about your brother! What in the world was he saying to those girls, I wonder?

It is funny, there is much controversy over who little looks like.

message 54: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Ha! That is so funny. Girls do love a mystery. Funny that they surmised his short answers spoke of the essence of their souls.

Little is a nonstop jabber jaw of baby babble sprinkled with recognizable words. If right now is any indication of how he will be when he is older, he will never be laconic (no thanks to me).

Hey Bunwat, thanks for highlighting some important points

Susan | 6406 comments I like everything you said but this "If I left the board, I'd do so and no one would notice or care and that is life as well" which I am certain is very far from the truth.
So put that back in your time machine and drop it off at the land of Not True and then come back and stay.

janine | 7709 comments Probably.

Jim | 6484 comments BunWat wrote: "Time to start drinking?"

Well if it's not time to stop it must be time to start!

message 71: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments I will start then. I should also celebrate the surprise 10% raise I got today - which sounds a lot more impressive than it actually is, I just went from 10,09 an hour to 11,18 an hour.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Misha wrote: "I learned yesterday that I have to take a week of unpaid furlough. Also cause for drinking, I think."

FUCKERS!!!

message 73: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Fuckers indeed, but I did learn a new word from that.

message 74: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments I've decided on my drink for the night: Beerenburg (made by adding herbs to jenever) + Coke, which I've been craving lately. Must be the cold weather.

message 75: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments A ten percent raise is nothing to sneeze at!
*raises a glass with janine*
(but not Beerenburg + Coke)

message 76: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Congrats J9

message 77: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Especially if they're a surprise. No sneezing here, I'm just amused.

message 78: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Yay for raises!!

Boo to the fuckers for unpaid furloughs!!

I did not feel that lobster girl's posting was very aggressive. She was only stating a fact which I was unaware of.

Guilty. Sorry again, Sooz.

I for one am thrilled the mods took some action. And, I'm not really bothered whether they announced it or not. It isn't a secret; it's posted at the top of the TC homepage. Plus, that's why we have mods, to watch our back.

Thanks, guys. Ed was making me twitchy.

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Gail wrote: "You were awesome Susan. There was no way I would have survived the Ed bashing you received."

She finally met Ed, then she kinda understood...but was totally offended.

*hangs head*

Sorry again.

*wipes tear*

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

Scout wrote: "Yay. This is a private 18+ group. Let's keep all those OTHERS out. I feel much more comfortable now."

Once again...participation and membership in TC is not compulsory. If you don't like it/us, you don't HAVE to be here.

*sighs for the hundredth time*

I just don't get it.

message 92: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Yes. Twitchy. And for a hot second, cyber-stalked. But maybe that was just paranoia.

Ames, I think you began the earliest defending of me. And, you know, I bound, splash and what not. :)

Though, for the record, I was clearly much cooler than Ewhateverhisnameis could ever be or was or anything.

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, that came through pretty loud and clear. I only doubted for a sec.

BTW, little is seriously adorable! I just finally made it all the way through this thread. So sinkin cute. If I was you that lil guy would get away with murder just cause every time I tried to get stern those big eyes would melt my heart!!

message 94: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Thank you! He laughs at me when I get mad. Laughs! He is a pretty sweet little thing most of the time. He also knows right when to give me a hug and pats my back while doing it. He is such a sugar. If you do happen to tell him no he throws himself on the floor. That's it. He doesn't make any noise. It is so hard not to burst out laughing when he does it.

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

When I was a nanny that was my #1 problem, maintaining a stern face when they were clearly being hilarious...but, you couldn't let them know that or they wouldn't learn. Sometimes I had to hide it behind a cough.

message 96: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I do a quick turn of my back and tell him I don't even care about that. But, man, is it funny. He sometimes just starts looking around like he has forgotten why he is even on the floor. Ha!

Yes, we all know participation and membership is voluntary. Also, members are allowed to express their opinions. As the group box says, "Be authentic. Get mad." Let's not browbeat anyone for being authentic, getting mad, or expressing an opinion that may not necessarily be a majority opinion. Let's not inform people that if they don't like something, they can leave. They're aware they can leave. Presumably they are members here because they want to be, and because they enjoy interacting with other members, or just expressing their opinions, or hanging out. Let's not bully people.

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm the bully?

Amelia wrote: "I'm the bully?"

I'm not calling you a bully.

But what I will say is that encouraging people to leave the group, unless they are actually a troll, is borderline bullying. I'm not going to call it bullying, but to me it is approaching bullying.

message 100: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24782 comments Mod
I think it's presumptuous of anyone to assume Scout is not enjoying the group or having fun. It's entirely possible that she is enjoying it and having fun.

There's also no rule you have to be positive and cheerful all the time. Or ever. If you want that to be a rule, make it a rule.

We don't all have to be alike in every way.
