I am one of those readers who took had to grow into Laurens' writing style. I didn't like it at first, but I've learned to appreciate it.
I agree about the love scenes becoming repetitive and unnecessary, but then again, she does have an excellent one every now and then so I don't skip ... much, lol!

I still remember a scene in a stable or something from one of her books (might have Flick's book) OMG was that HOT! lol

I"m halfway through the book and I really don't get why all of the men in Laurens' books are so reluctant to admit that they are in love with the heroines. Get over yourself, man!The secret keeping in this one is ridiculous. He doesn't want to tell her that he is as rich as Croesus. What?!
I'm concerned that she is going to suspect that he is the thief - the man is an idiot!
Well, that was disappointing. Amelia is a more appealing heroine than Amanda, but the story is simply boring. Other than Luc's repetitious, ridiculous and tedious internal angst, there is no actual plot to speak of. The minor mystery is woefully underdeveloped and the culprit is obvious from the first moment.
The sex scenes are repetitious and mechanical and lose their charm very quickly. In fact, this is one big purple prose sex fest :0(

I loved it! I especially love the twins' stories. But then... others don't love her books as much as I do. Granted, I do skim some of her love scenes...as they go on for pages and pages... and are often so similar to past books. Weird... because I definitely remember times in my life when all I wanted to get to the love scenes. Ah... youth is wasted on the young. LOL!
