Bug - no default descrip - 15 editions but description claims only one

Description had paragraphs lacking space between. When I tried to fix, in a default to propagate fix, description field claimed only one edition, not the 15 shown. All editions list descriptions individually, instead of having a default. Never seen this before.

I just tried it and it worked for me. I added spaces between the paragraphs, clicked the checkbox for default description and saved. Then went into another edition and clicked "use the default description" and it switched it over without any problems.

Perhaps just a temporary anomaly in the matrix?

The editions thing is definitely wonky. Last night while fixing someones request it stated 8 editions, then when clicking the other editions link, it listed many, many more.

Not worth referring to Feedback, unless I come across it again, but interesting.

That particular bug has been around for weeks. I didn't make a Feedback post either, because it seems like staff lately has only been reading about 0.05% of threads anyway...

It's a caching issue. The "other editions" section on the book's page has a 24-hour cache, IIRC. so if you have recently done a combine or separate, it won't be accurate.

Ditto. Whew, with Thanks. So, no future worries. Staff has always responded fast, I thought. Increased messages "GR overloaded come back later", affect staff?

So, problems with # editions and default descriptions has been, is, and ever shall be, common, after anyone separates or combines editions, easily solved: (Take pill and) Try later.

I hadn't gotten as far as making a combine or separate, but that's not to say someone else hadn't done so :)
