Anne Conley (anneconley) I am new to the self-publishing thing, and have three books in a series to publish. I have two up on Amazon, and pubit!, but want to put up a free novella. I can't figure out how to make it free...Does anyone have the answer to this?

Ken Consaul | 150 comments You need to take the KDP select option. Search the boards for more info on whether you want to take this step. Once enrolled, you can pick five different days to make your book free.

If you have a backlist, the novella is ripe for the Select program.

Paul You only get five days of free with KDP Select every 90 days. Somewhere I read that you can put it on KDP (not Select) for the lowest price, then list it on Nook and Kobo - or Smashwords, for free, then Amazon will price match it. I don't know if it works but I'm going to try it next month.

Anne Conley (anneconley) Thanks Paul. I had already published to Smashwords and Kindle when I asked this question, so KDP select isn't an option at this point. I think I heard the same, but apparently there's a lag time...I'm not very patient...
