I wish there were more historical werewolf romances out there. The two seem to be a perfect pair, but when I searched I couldn't find all that many. That got me wondering if anyone else wished there were more of a certain kind of book out there that you just don't see a lot of? Anyone else got a Paranormal or Urban Fantasy wish or wish list? What would you like to see more of?

Where are the books about the vamp/shifter hero falling for the middle aged mom w kids? That's what I want to see.....LOL!
I want more books with a normal relationship, without all the love triangles and instant love. Tired of both.

I would like to see more men in UF as the hero. Seems like I see them all the time in PNR and they maybe a side kick in UF but I would like a man coming of age story.

I agree, there's not nearly as many male heroes as female. I really want to see more male protagonists in YA that are manly and protective without being dirtbags...there is a difference and I am hard pressed to find it.
I'd like to see more subtle romantic tension spread out over many books. The couple doesn't have to confess their love or have sex in the first book. I like watching the friendship develop.

I like watching the friendship develop."That's one of the things I like about Brigg's Mercy series. The romance wasn't rushed and it didn't begin till the triangle was removed.
I agree Lisarenee. The reader sees the potential, so they enjoy their interactions more.

While I agree there may not be asz many male leads, I can think of a half dozen off the top of my head:
Harry Dresden of the Dresden Files & John Taylor from the Nightside books spring to mind. Also the Nik & Cal Leandros (Rob Thurman), the Felix Castor series, the Simon Canderous series, Harry Connolly's Twenty Palaces series. And I just finished Dog Days, by John Levitt, with a rather fun male lead. And those are all definitely UF, not PNR.
I'd like to see more "UF" in non-major urban areas. Suburban Fantasy? Rural Fantasy? Surely magic isn't limited to metro areas.

It is so hard being 21 years old with blond hair to my ass and blue eyes that sparkle like ocean. I just wish I could find a hunky guy to talk to, after all I speak 35 languages, I have my PhD in Anthropology and now I am working on my very own dig for ancient Chinese ming dishes. Sighing to myself why can't I just meet a regular guy who wants to spar with me and maybe shoot deer on the weekend with my sig sauer? Oh well no need to ponder I need to pick up my suit from the dry cleaners before they close. I whirl my custom Range Rover through traffic and today is my lucky day there is a car pulling out ahead. After parking the car I grab my Louis Vuitton bag when I notice my phone fell out. As I reach for my phone a man comes out of no where and throws me out of my car grabbing my keys. Another man is right behind him, oh my goodness what does he want then he looks at me with dazzling green eye like emeralds. His voice is like music to my ears and I can barely stand to listen to him but his eyes grow questioning..."Can you hear me Miss?" "Oh I am sorry" finding my voice is weaker than I would have liked "I guess you took my by surprise". He gently lifts me in his arms "Oh no problem you are so beautiful, I want you to be my wife". To my utter surprise I feel myself in total agreement "YES YES err what is your name?"

I like the sexual tension spreading out over several books, but I also like the instalust (much different than instalove). Just depends on the characters and if it's a series or stand alone. Why can't we get some books with sexual tension that builds and builds like the tv show Bones? Hot!

Lesbian/gay main characters. I only know of one series that has a lesbian main character Black Blade Blues. Once you go into erotica there is much more diversity when it comes to sexuality, but not in PNR and UF.

? It's a m/m relationship. It's a beautiful love story of an old vampire who falls for a human tattoo artist. One of my favorite books of last year.
With, were, the man character, if he were a shifter, had chest hair when he was human. I just don't get it. I'd also like to see more Regencies with better written dialogue.
Paranomals with childern lol I like it when the paranormal world is known and not a big secret nor hunted down or hated.

I'd like to see new beings introduced into the paranormal/fantasy genre. I'm currently working on it, but not really getting anywhere with it.

The Sazi books are great ones that no one seems to read, which is sad.
I know! I feel that way about Sazi books. They are great and nobody seems to read them. I guess the world and the romances are really good but the H and h don't jump out. But I love Tony and the bobcats and really want the badger to have her own story. lol I also love the
series and pimp it all the time because it is awesome. Completely different but wonderful.
I read the Heartmate series too and agree with you about how good they are, another one no one read. So bad.
I tried the Sazi series long ago and I could not get into it.

Yes this is one but generally speaking there are so many books with a female protagonist only a handful with men. I feel like women outnumber the men but like 20 to 1...ok I totally made that number up but I think you know what I mean.

Yeah, I was agreeing. Saying Kevin Hearne's series was helping with some male protagonist books that maybe somebody wanting more male centered books could read. Just like ladymurmur earlier named the Dresden files and a few more. I missed that brianna also named the IDC as well.

But you know even in UF books with a male protagonist the men already have their talent. Dresden is already a powerful wizard

Like the Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland, she is already a cop and she is a minor summoner but she becomes powerful as the series moves along.
Or even like in epic fantasy where the guy is truly an underdog and he has to fight to fulfill his prophecy...then again maybe that is what keeps me reading epic fantasy??

He has been powerful but an incident before the series starts has taken almost all his powers away. He's lost his job and his status w/in the magic community. He is now basically starting from scratch & dealing w/the stress and embarrassment of that. He's a druid and a private investigator who works in the fairy/elf/etc equivilant of the ghetto solving crimes no one else cares about.

I personally like a slower build, even in a stand-alone book, but authors are told to amp it up.

Tired of YA paranormal. If I have to read another book where the ordinary teenage girl stumbles on a world of myth because of a paranormal boy I will be sick. I like books that go against formula, have her fall in instant love/lust with the paranormal only he's the wrong guy, and eventually come to understand that her bestfriend is the one she's supposed to be with. One where the geeky sidekick saves the day while the hero is having a monologue battle with the villian. Have the new vampire get icked out by blood, a hero duo where instead of saving the one that is in trouble he lets him burn to save the perfect stranger.
