Hi all! Now that we have a few members let's introduce ourselves!

I am Mallory. I live in Grass Lake, MI. I have a 2 month old and 2 year old.

My 2yo daughter and I have story time every evening. I definitely contribute her extensive vocabulary to all the books she has read over the years. I am glad we started early! Plus it is great cuddle time.

My son and I haven't started our regular story time yet since is so young. Luckily I have a nice collection of baby books already, left over from my two year (I've noticed, however, that ever since he has arrived she has a renewed interest in tiny little board books).

Please introduce yourselves!! Is there anything particular you'd like to discuss in the group? I will try to post some of what I am reading to my daughter (I try to have a general theme each week but there are always favorites tucked in there). Also, I love discussing parenting books - does any one have any favorites I should check out? So far mine is Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids.

Anne (aennie) | 9 comments Hi everyone,

it's good to see this group is getting more and more members! I'd meant to add my introduction for a while, but what with everyday life etc etc haven't gotten around to it yet.
Anyway, but now here we go :)

I am Anne and I have an almost-20-month-old daughter. My husband is English and I am German, so she is growing up with two languages. She's got both German and English books. I'm always interested in and curious about anything that has to do with raising a child bilingually!

We live in Northern Germany, and though English has been our family language so far (my poor husband is trying to learn German, which apparently isn't exactly the easiest language...) German is the language that is mostly surrounding us. We stock up on English books when visiting the UK, as well as by gladly receiving them from relatives.

Anyhow, my little one is waking up, so I'll stop writing for now - looking forward to reading more introductions, though :)

Danielle Sangallo | 1 comments Hi All,
I am Daniela, I have a 14 months years old and another one due in 2 months. So I am getting in to the toddler age and I am very interested in getting to know about parenting issues.

I am Italian and I live in Los Angeles. As Anne, I am very interested in raising a child bilingual as well (in my case Italian and English).

In addition, having another baby on the way I am very interested in the siblings relationships.

Ciao
Daniela

Sabrina Aleman (SabrinaAleman) | 1 comments Hello! My name is Sabrina, I have a 15 month old, Nico, who just LOVES books! Every night we read a picture book, a few pages of a chapter book, and sometimes a passage from the bible. Currently we finished The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry and have recently started The Borrowers (The Borrowers, #1) by Mary Norton it might be a little advanced but in my opinion it is never too early to pick up a good book =)
I was wondering if anyone else reads children's novels aloud to their toddler?

E.C. Kraeft (goodreadscomeckraeft) | 5 comments Hey guys, I haven't seen too much activity in this group, (probably because life is busy) but I love love love talking about books and tips to help our little readers. As a teacher, I've incorporated some reading ideas on my Goodreads group, Reading Tips for Parents. Come check us out.
