Merging identical editions

Hi,

These 4 Arabic editions of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change book are identical:

I didn't go ahead with merging because I wasn't sure if I'd need a Super-librarian status to do one of the steps.

Can someone please help with it?

A superlibrarian is needed when the edition that needs to be deleted/merged is shelved more than five times, which is the case here. But as normal librarian you can make it easier for the superlibrarians by already separating the editions involved in the merging from the other editions. (With the edition that needs to be deleted combined with the edition that needs to say.)

Mohammed, I had a quick look and it would be difficult for a non-arabic librarian to separate your four books cause there are about 8 or 9 arabic editions.

Please separate the ones you believe to be duplicates and post them in the delete thread for a super to handle :)

Hi Sandra,

I am not so familiar with merging identical editions, but what I understood from the librarian manual is that we shouldn't delete the identical books, since the reviews on these editions will be lost.

I'm waiting for a super to handle this..

When a book is not combined with an other edition when it is deleted the reviews will indeed be lost. But when the book is combined with an other edition the reviews will go to that other edition.
