Ann (ann_sherwin) | 125 comments I am currently reading Nachfolge, by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, in German. But beneath the listing of the German edition, GoodReads says The Cost of Discipleship is the original title. It actually should be the other way around: Nachfolge is the original title, and The Cost of Discipleship is the translation.
But there is also a newer English translation published by Fortress Press, titled simply Discipleship (Vol. 4 of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's complete works). Might not this be a better translation to link with the original title Nachfolge?

Lobstergirl Edited.

All editions of a work will have the same original title. You can't single one out for a different original title.

Besides which, Wiki says "The Cost of Discipleship, is a book by the German Theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, considered a classic of Christian thought. The original German title is simply Nachfolge (Discipleship)."

Ann (ann_sherwin) | 125 comments Thanks. But if you want to be CORRECT, this is the book that is part of the series (note similarity of cover to the other books in the series):

Here is my source for the history of the English title Cost of Discipleship:

Actually, on GR we only have series which apply to all editions of a book, so books grouped together after the fact by a publisher aren't linked as a series. As you can see, there are may editions of this book which aren't part of that publisher's collection:
