Is there anyone else that liked number four the best? This was my personal favorite in the whole series. The trip to the Aiel Wastes was surreal and I remember being blown away when Rand "sees through the eyes of his ancestors". It was Jordan's version of a peyote trip but without any drugs. It took me a bit to realize that he was travelling backward through successive generations in his lineage. This was Jordan at his supremely creative best. So then Rand comes back to the civilized lands with his new army of followers ready to stomp on heads

I'm not sure if it's the best in the series or not, but it's definitely one of my favorites. I just love the Aiel. Rand's journey to Rhuidean was really interesting.
I liked The Shadow Rising, but I believe Lord of Chaos is better. I am currently reading Knife of Dreams and that is by far the best book...until now, I haven't read the last three. It's just very hard to pick one.
