Well, truthfully, it doesn't have to be a YA book, in fact, only special young people would probably really enjoy her books. The movie was really well done, I thought. It's not exactly like the book, but with consideration to how the director and writer translated it to screen, I think it was very well done indeed (we have a whole thread discussing this on the forum ;)

Some were, in fact, too adult for the age I read them. Try reading The Lantern Bearers, and imagine being a 14 year old girl. (Uh, I think I'll stop there.)
Yeah, I'm glad I didn't read that one when I was younger because I don't think I would have appreciated it as much. In fact, I did like her books as a young teen, but I didn't appreciate them totally until I started reading them again and also because they were like the stories I enjoyed writing as well.
I like to say I read YA because I don't like a lot (or preferably any) sexual content in books, unfortunately I've found YA novels with more than some "adult" novels I have read. But I enjoy nothing more than a really good toothsome read that doesn't have an overabundance of adult content in it.

I'm sure you are correct I just think people are beating me to it at B&N (she seems to stay sold out at the store near me) and won't resale it at my 3 near by used bookstores. I will keep looking.
I tell you what though, I did not think I was watching a YA book as I watched the movie. They did good, I thought.
