Lisarenee | 7659 comments Okay, so I've heard rumors and I'd like to know if they are true. They don't sell All Abouts in my neck of the woods, but I heard they do in others? Is it true or have they been removed as a Girl Scout Cookie?

Also, I've heard rumors of a Mango cookie. Has anyone seen them? We don't have them here.:(

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments I don't know if they are sold everywhere, but here's a list of cookies I found: List of Cookies

A mango cookie is on it as well as the Thank-a-lot which used to be called All Abouts. Apparently I've been out of the loop. As long as I get tag-a-longs and thin mints I don't care about the rest :-P

~Melissa~ So up in my neck of the woods - Chicago NW suburbs. No Mango cookie and the All Abouts/Thanks a lot cookies got changed to Thank you Berry Much which is kind of like an oatmeal cookie with cranberries in it. Sure wish they would bring the Thanks a Lot cookies back ~ hubby and I really liked them, lol.

A friend of mine who lives farther north than I was saying that she heard girls talking about Mango cookies so not sure how they are listed to the girls??

Lisarenee | 7659 comments I heard about the Mango cookies on the radio and the guy was saying they're infused with vitamins.

Hmm...that's interesting. I hadn't heard that. My friend was just asking if my daughter had Mango cookies on the list. Maybe we will have them next year or maybe they are "piloting" them in areas to see the response?

Vicki | 765 comments My granddaughter starts selling this weekend. They got to try the mango cookie at their halloween party. None of the girls were impressed and several said they liked mango. We are in the Des Moines, Ia area.

Christina | 3 comments ok so I'm a girl scout and my service unit uses Little Brownie cookies ( If you get Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Do Si Dos, Trefoils, Samoas, and Savannah Smiles, you are using Little Brownie. There is another company that sells and I don't remember what it is called. As far as I know there are no mango cookies but they could be with the other baking company. Also, All Abouts have been discontinued. So have Thank You Berry Munch and the carmel one that I can't spell ( If you've had it you know what I'm talking about). Also if you really want to know more about cookies it might be a good idea to go to girlscouts.org

~Melissa~ I was just talking with one of my co-workers today. She is a leader up in Wisconsin. There are two different bakers/distributor companies. We obviously use Little Brownie as noted in post above. The Wisc troop are selling the Thanks alot, Mango cookies and a different lemon cookie than the Savannah Smile.
I bought a box of the Mango cookies and Thanks alot cookies. I couldn't resist ☺

Stefani Robinson (steffiebaby140) | 807 comments Oohhh, I haven't seen the mango in my neck of the woods yet. I'll have to ask the next time I'm buying! I did try the lemonade ones last year and thought they were really good. Nothing is better than my Thin Mints, but the lemonade came really close.

message 10: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ The Thin Mints I bet will never go out of style. We always sell the most of them.
My family freezes them - awesome. Also really good crumbled on ice cream - yum!!

message 11: by Shadow Jubilee (new)

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) Haven't seen the mango.

I got a chance to buy girl scout cookies this year. My sister and I had been hoping to buy them for the past couple of years but we don't know any girl scouts. heh

My options this year were what Jordan mentioned were Little Brownie cookies: Trefoils, Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, and I think Lemonades (it was a lemon-flavored cookie, at any rate). The girl scout who was selling them told me that she didn't think the Lemonades were that great, but I got a box anyway. For myself, I tend to buy Samoas and occasionally Tagalongs and Do-Si-Dos. I also like to try one of the newer flavors. My sister absolutely MUST have Thin Mints. That's the only cookie she will eat/buy and she doesn't like to share - so I bought 2 boxes of those. lol.

Lisarenee | 7659 comments Until this year I thought they all sold the same cookies. This area (Florida) sells:
Thin Mints, Somoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos, Thank U Berry Munch, Savannah Smiles (Lemon) and Dulce De Leche(Carmel)

message 13: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 765 comments We must have the other bakery in Iowa because we have all different names even though they are the same cookies. We buy a lot of boxes of carmel delights and thin mints. We liked the lemonades but the savvanah smiles are not availiable here. Also shortbread is a good one.

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments I feel the need to go cookie investigating now. Are they still in presales or selling on the streets yet? (Ok that sounds bad but you know what I mean...)

message 15: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 7659 comments From what people are saying in this thread it sounds like that varies Jex. My daughter just turned in her presales the past Sunday. Vickilynn says her granddaughter was going to start selling this past weekend.

message 16: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Ours just handed in the presale forms last Fri and we will do site sales the end of Februaryish.

message 17: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 765 comments She isn't allowed to sell until Feb. 1. We have to preorder and then we sell from our supply. This is the second year we did it this way. The rules are suppose to be fair that way but I know people here who have lined up orders to deliver the first weekend. We pick up our cookies tomorrow and can start selling Friday. Makes it interesting to have cases of cookies in your home that do not belong to anyone. Very tempting. LOL.

Vicki | 765 comments Also we can't do booth sales until the 15th.

message 19: by Marla (new)

Marla | 1803 comments Our family likes the Peanut Butter Patties (called Tagalongs, in some areas) and Caramel Delites. We liked the previous Lemon Cremes. We bought Lemonades this year, but I hear they aren't as good.

I am supposed to be getting a box of Mango, so I will let you know what I think. I've heard mixed reviews.

In our Peoria area, there was no customer pre-ordering this year, each girl had to order what you thought you could sell and then could re-order as needed. So it was harder to get the more popular cookies after the first few weeks. Lots of cookie booths were seen around town.

This is the first year that they did it this way in our area. Where are you? As a customer, I don't like it, because if I didn't catch my friends early, they wouldn't have had what I wanted. To hedge my bets, I bought some at a cookie booth at the grocery store and called my friends too (one was totally sold out, but one had re-ordered and had everything at that point).

message 21: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 765 comments we are in Ankeny Ia. We didn't have any trouble getting any of the cookies. I picked up her final order this morning and was able to get everything we wanted. The only part We didn't like is if you miscalculate you have to pay for them anyway. We did get lucky and had a last minute order of the cookies we were not fond of.

I'm in Tampa. How did you like the mango cookies. Still seething that the place with mangos aplenty didn't get any mango cookies. Too weird.

message 23: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 765 comments Of everyone who tried them that I know of (about 25 people) only 2 liked them. They were enriched with vitamins or something and tasted like a childrens chewable. As a troop we didn't even sell a whole case of them

message 24: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 7659 comments That's too bad. :( You'd think they would have done a taste test first. Must not have.
