Good questions, Monique! especially for overseas visitors. I'm trying to keep the "Travel" page on the website full of useful info like this.
Check in to this page for all info on travelling to Manchester and then on to the UK Meet Hotel:

and then feel free to ask other questions here.

Metroshuttle information here: http://www.tfgm.com/buses/Pages/metro... For Salford Central, you want the number 3. Unfortunately this one only runs Mon-Sat. But the other two routes run 7 days a week, and are a useful service for running around the city centre to see the sights -- although be warned that it is often slower than walking, and is often very crowded, especially at peak hours or in bad weather.
General local transport information here: http://www.tfgm.com/
There is also a bus service between the airport and Piccadilly Gardens bus station in the city centre -- it takes considerably longer than the train into Piccadilly and isn't any cheaper in off-peak periods, but is an alternative if there is an issue with the train service.

A return costs £11 and lasts for a month. You can book one online, or buy on the day.

The hotel is 11 miles from Manchester Airport.
From the airport to the hotel:
Arrivals Information:
Manchester Airport has 3 terminals:
Terminal 1 airlines include Aer Lingus, easyJet, Lufthansa, and SAS (subject to change).
Terminal 2 airlines include Monarch, Delta, US Airways, and Virgin Atlantic flights (subject to change).
Terminal 3 airlines include British Airways, American Airlines, KLM, Ryanair, and Air France (subject to change).
Information and ticket desks are in the arrivals areas of all 3 terminals.
Trains into Manchester and other counties are available at Manchester Airport Station which is located at the heart of the airport complex. Skylinks connects all 3 terminals at Manchester to the upper level of the railway station. The Skylinks incorporate moving walkways and there are lifts and escalators at the terminals and railway station for easy access to all levels.
Manchester International Airport is located beyond the city limits, about ten miles from the city centre. A taxi from the airport to Piccadilly (and near to the Manchester Macdonald) should only cost around £20 for a single journey.
