I'm about half way through Scarlet now after my short session this morning and seriously, I'm loving it.

Nah, what I meant was that we could do so when we had finished reading what was already released. Either way is fine with me :)

Hi Jeff, I read "South of Broad" a few years ago and I wanted so badly to like it because I loved most of of Pat Conroy's other books and I enjoy reading about Charleston, but I don't think that was one of his better novels. I felt the whole storyline was not very plausible and kind of over the top. Also, the dialog seemed like he was trying too hard to be witty. I loved the descriptions of the historic houses in Charleston, though.

Pink and I are reading Girl Interrupted by by Susanna Kaysen. It was a short read and we have both already finished it. My thoughts on it are below:
My thoughts were I loved the story line and plot. I really liked all the characters and thought the actual hospital, doctor notes added flavor to the whole book. I liked the perspective from the patient, the girl herself.
The only problem I had was.. I wanted more information. It seemed to be too quick of a read for the story that it was. There has to be more info and happenings. I felt like the whole story was not told in a way. I am not sure how to rate this... I wish I could rate it 3 1/2 but can't. 4 is a bit high and 3 is too low..
I also wondered if our main character really had that severe of a mental issue...I know there were issues but that was a long time to be hospitalized. I guess that is why I thought the book should have been longer as she was in the hospital a long time. I did love the title!!!

I agree with you - I read "Girl Interrupted" a few years ago and I found it facinating, but I felt we were not given all the details of her isues to begin with. Perhaps because it was narrated by the main character, you only saw her side of the events leading up to her hospital stay. I didn't think it sounded like she should have been put in a mental hospital, but then, there are people in places like that that feel they don't belong there either.

I'm unsure what to read next from my big pile of books on the table, haven't felt like reading at all today, but it's between

Loving it! I'm totally intrigued by the mystery that is the FAYZ!
And Pink... if you haven't started Gone yet... you should! :D xx

Well I've read Gone and Divergent. They're both brilliant!

It's brilliant! But to warn you, once you finish, you'll want to start Insurgent immediately. And Insurgent is even better! And the ending! And then the wait for Divergent #3, Lol ahhhhh!

Pink wrote: "Yes I bought Divergent and Insurgent in a hardback box deal, so I already have the next book to read...then I can relax until the third instalment comes out!"
I thought I'd be able to relax while waiting for the next book to come out. But after the last 3 pages of Insurgent, I just can't wait 7 months!!! Nooo!

Ooohhh, Plague is a gruesome one. Probably the gruesomest of them all, then Fear.

Must. Know. What. Happens

I didn't really like it. To, just, ewww

One book is conspicuously missing :p

Mathilda Savitch -Victor Lodato
Philip Pullmans' - Brothers Grimm (Awesome if you like fresh takes on lore!)
City of Dark Magic - Magnus Flyte (odd, but pretty good so far )
Under Wildwood - Colin Meloy
The Trouble with Poetry - Billy Collins
This is a Book - Demetri Martin
See what I mean about the bookaholism? In all fairness, some of this consumption frequently "enabled," by family and/or friends who like to euphemistically call my habit "voracious reading!"
Ha! ; }

I can't find the Grimm book in Goodreads. Nor can I find the author.
Do you have a link?

It's well researched! At the end of each story are a few paragraphs about where the stories we know today came from and the changes in telling over the years by people like Hans Christian Anderson & others! V cool! Still in HB tho! Happy reading ; }
