Thirteen Reasons Why
question
who else was hoping that hannah wasn't really dead?

Before I started reading it someone had told me there was this big twist at the end of the book. So the whole time I was reading it I kept expecting Hannah wasn't dead at all she was just in hiding and clay was going to find her. But then towards the end my expectations about her not really being dead turned into pure hope that she wasn't dead. did any of you guys feel this way? do you think that Hannah should have died?

There was a part of me hoping she was still alive as well. Her parents left town and there was this little piece of me saying maybe she could be with them.

I know, right?
I really got emtionally attached to Hannah in the story; I honest;y though Clay... CLay might kill himself too. But then he randomly befriended Skye, I mean, talk about odd.
Also, did you think Hannah had a reason to be as upset as she was? Or was she being a little dramatic?

Sometimes during reading I thought 'God I hope she's alive' but I think if she wasn't it would take away the emphasizes of the impact of others actions that contributed to Hannah's death and how important it is to be mindful that everyone has their own problems.
i think it would have ruined the entire book if she wasnt really dead. she was a character that you knew was already dead so it wasnt like you could grow an emotional attatchment to and then get upset that she died. Throughout the book it never occured to me that she would be alive, i thought that the author wouldn't do that because to keep the darkeness of it and the significance that the audio tapes were the only remeberence that Clay would have of Hannah ever again was the whole point of the book. I disagree that it would be a good twist because i think it would ruin the book completly. Hannah wanted the audio tapes to make the people that had made her kill herself to feel guilty for the rest of their lives and would have no hope to make anything better or say sorry.

I do agree it probably would have ruined the book but like I said in the discussion question someone had told me before I actually read the book that
