Who else HATED the ending of this book?

Me :( The ending sucked ; Katniss and Gale pretty much hate eachother, Katniss turns into the "damsel in distress" at the very end, (not to mention her depression) and the ending is very hopeless and vague. I expected more Suzanne Collins...

Honestly, I was hoping Peeta would stay crazy forever, and probably die somehow. I wanted Gale and Katniss to fall in love, and be together forever. Peeta dead. Little Gale and Katniss babies.
I always hated him, Peeta. He was in love with Katniss, and because of their position in the hunger games, she was forced to make out with him every couple of seconds. While she was trying to survive, he we taking pleasure in their horrible situation. It was annoying beyond comprehension.
That arguement aside, I feel like all my favorite characters were killed off. Prim? Death by explosion! Not only that, but the fact that she was one of so many! The list of deaths goes on. However there was one who I found myself in an eternal sadness because of their death—oh gods, I think I'm going to cry again—FINNICK! He had just gotten married! Just about to have a son!! What, what are they going to tell Annie? Why Finnick, WHY!!!!
Why? ... So yes. I didn't particularly 'like' the ending. I can see many others agree.

I'm actually one of the few that didn't mind the ending to this book. I'm not going to lie and say that it was a great ending, because it wasn't, but I think it ended just as it should have.

I think it was important that Collins made it clear just how much Katniss' world falls apart after the war and how stricken she is by the events that occur at the end of it.

The books are from Katniss' point of view so it was key that Collins made the ending as messy as possible, making it a representation of what her life had now become.

I think it's because Prim is and was the only person Katniss was certain she loved. She was the only person she had left and she lost her

I found the ending a bit unfinished and rushed. (I mean the last 7 or pages) I felt sad that Finnick died - that was a bit unnecessary.

Me too,,why Finnick must be died? and i prefer like to see Katnis married with Gale.but i still can't wait the movie.

I think that the love triangle ended too conveniently. The author set it up so that Katniss could never choose Gale. It was tied up in a neat little bow. As it originally stood, she had two good guys that she could choose from. That was the whole issue. She could have been happy with either of them, because they were each a different part of her personality. But, with the death of Prim, Peeta was the only choice left because she never could forgive Gale.

Just my opinion.

I can't say I hated the ending. Yes, I hated that finnick and prim and all those people died... and yes I did totally want more t the ending but its wasn't horrible.

I do agree in part. (just not with the opinion of peeta). war does change people and i am glad she portayed that. however considering her character, i think it would have been better if katniss ended up alone because yes, i also think she only really loved prim.

I thought the ending would be more "full filling" I think thats the word, meaning I thought Katniss would be a Cop or something along those lines, I was also kind of surprised of who she chose-kind of Obvious yet still surprising.

I didn't like that so many people died, really wanted Finnick to get a HEA he deserved it but I don't think the ending was horrible, honestly the whole series was a tragedy and a wonderful ending wouldn't have been very realistic. I don't agree with people about Peeta I really liked him, yes he was a bit weak but he didn't give up when many people would have. Also I thought Gale was an arsehole by the end of the series.
