i would like to know which is your favourite scene in the lord of the rings from the book and the movies plus the hobbit.

I love Treebeard and the Ents. Every time I read the scene where they go to war against Isengard -

("To Isengard! Though Isengard be ringed and barred with doors of stone;
Though Isengard be strong and hard, as cold as stone and bare as bone,
We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door;
For bole and bough are burning now, the furnace roars - we go to war!
To land of gloom with tramp of doom, with roll of drum, we come, we come;
To Isengard with doom we come!
With doom we come, with doom we come!")

I get chills. And it gets even better with Merry and Pippin's narration of the Ents in full gear assaulting Orthanc.

I am also very fond of Theoden's speech just as he is leading his army into battle against the siege of Minas Tirith.

In The Hobbit my favourite scene is when the dwarves arrive and the dinner party afterwards. Hilarious. Also the riddle game with Gollum and Bilbo (that whole Gollum/Bilbo sequence in the movie was fantastic!)

In The Lord of the Rings it's the scene in Ithilien between Sam and Gollum about the cooking of the rabbits. And the Merry/Pippin/Treebeard scenes.
Oh, and the one where Frodo and Sam talk about stories and heroes:
'And people will say: "Let's hear about Frodo and the Ring!" And they'll say: "Yes, that's one of my favourite stories. Frodo was very brave, wasn't he, dad?" "Yes, my boy, the famousest of the hobbits, and that's saying a lot."'
'It's saying a lot too much,' said Frodo,..."

It's rather hard to just pick one...

My favorite part of LOTR 2 was the helms deep battle.

Haven't seen the hobbit yet

The riddle game with Gollum in the Hobbit has been my favorite scene since I was a kid. The way it turned a simple game into something potentially deadly fascinates me.

THE HOBBIT MOVIE

I love in the Hobbit, where the dwarves are captured by goblins and Gandalf comes to the rescue. The goblin King says something like, "You cannot defeat me." Then Gandalf hits him in the head with his staff and cuts his stomach with his sword. The goblin king says, "That would do it." And falls off the platform. (much funnier in the movie)

Also in the same part, when they finally out run the goblins and roll down the mountain into a shack. One of the dwarves said, "It could have been worse." then the goblin king's body lands on them and they all groan. (again, funnier in the movie)

I ALSO LIKE IN THE LoTR MOVIES/ BOOKS-

Battle of Helms Deep
Hobbits meet Aragorn
Ghost King Scene with sword and Aragorn
Aragorn's reunion with the elf princess/ getting married
Gandalf comes back from the dead
Treebeard and the Ents
Legolas fighting with Gimli/ them seeing who can kill more/ Legolas kills the Olliphant and Gimli says "that only counts for one"

The Hobbit Books-

Bilbo and the spiders in the Mirkwood forest (so mad they took that out of the movies- I was waiting for it)
Chapter- Riddles in the Dark (i know really nerdy I know the chapter name)

Sam Sisk I don't like to see you disappointed about the Mirkwood spiders, so just in case you didn't know: the Hobbit movie is only part one in a whopping thre ...more

yes, the ents are mother nature personified which take revenge on Saruman´s evil doings.

I'll refer only to the movies since I read the books many a year back.

LOTR
From the Fellowship, the dying Boromir who confesses to Aragorn that he would've follow him. His last words "my captain...my King..". It's an extremely strong scene.

From the Return, the hobbit sings a sad song to the steward of Gondor, while Faramir with a handful of knights ride to recapture an orc overran Osgiliath.

THE HOBBIT

Smaug attacks the dwarves. It's a scene with a huge dragon. He flies. He breathes fire. He takes a whole city by himself. Do I really need to say more?

Anything with Aragorn in it, in the books and the movies.
