Marg is really sick again & the place is a disaster. I really need to vacuum, wrap presents, cancel the vets for Monday, & get the clothes washed. My underwear drawer (which usually fills itself automatically) is empty.
Poor Marg. She's running a fever again & coughing so hard. She's barely capable of watching TV. Miserable. I hope this round of antibiotics & 2 solid weeks of rest will fix her.

Thanks, Nina. I see that 431 Goodreads members put the book on their "horror" shelf. See the page showing the various shelves for the book entitled 11/22/63:

Jim, I'm sorry to hear that Marg isn't doing well. Sending good thoughts your way for a quick recovery.
Meanwhile, skip the vacuuming! You really need to prioritize at this point! Skip the wrapping too! Put each gift in a decorative gift bag like the ones they sell at the Dollar Store. I save them for such emergencies.
Or just use plain paper bags. Everyone will understand!

Nina, that's a good idea. At Netfix it's streamable:
http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/600...
It's on my Netflix "List".
The other night I watched Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" (1951) on the TCM Channel. I also watched the 1970 version with Albert Finney, which was a musical version called "Scrooge". It was wonderful!
There's a lovely song called "Happiness" in the 1970 movie, "Scrooge".
You can hear it at YouTube (3 different versions):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaxcQ...
(At the last link above, the song starts about 6 minutes
and 45 seconds into the video.)

Nina, that was a grand idea about the sleds! Kudos to your husband! 87 years old! WOW!
The story about your great granddaughter, Chloe, is very heart-warming. She must be a very thoughtful person!

I'm guessing the woods will be a wreck since we've had days of rain. As soon as it is light & I can feed the horses, the dogs & I will inspect the fence lines. I'm sure I'll have a lot to clean up -- later. Today will be the minimum to keep everyone in. Josh is here now, but leaving by 9am, so I do have some help for the first part.

It's pretty amazing how wind shear works. Lighter stuff on the porch right next to the locker never budged. For instance, the cushions on the chairs are still in place. 3' away, the locker that took all that 2 of us had to set back upright, was knocked down.
Marg is doing better. Came back from the walk about & found her trying to cook her own egg sandwich. She was running out of steam, so I made it for her. She's feeling too much better & not staying put. Grrr. Off to do the horses & goats.

Glad Marg is feeling better but I hope she takes it easy.

Gina, welcome to our group! Jump in any time! Stay warm!

Hope everyone is keeping warm!
Our weather: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick....
"Overnight ... a low around -7 F"

Tomorrow, we're supposed to get above freezing for a while & stay a bit warmer until for a week & then do a repeat of today.

See the video clips. What a mess!

It was a shame that the lady had to give birth in a car. I worry about my DIL whose baby is due on Feb. 5 and is to be delivered in NYC. Hope the weather won't cause problems. A week or so ago NYC had a foot of snow.

A friend of mine in the UK says they're drowning. Way too much rain.

What a lovely and thoughtful gift from your granddaughter!
As for the ending of "Blue Jasmine", I agree with you. It was odd. It seemed there was no resolution except for the fact that (view spoiler) But, IMO, that ending was too sudden and didn't give any obvious closure to the story, at least until you thought about it a while and accepted it.
Nina, I hope you don't mind but I will repeat the relevant part of this post in the movie section.

Temp is 30°F, which is high compared to our recent near-zero temps.
This has been such a rough winter and it's affecting such a large part of the country. Everyone is sick of it by now!

It's no longer snowing here this morning, and the sun is shining gloriously. But we're looking out the windows at a VERY white, cold world, and BC is closed again today.

Yes, it's VERY WHITE here too! The accumulated snow in our backyard is almost 2 feet minus a few inches. I think we got about a foot of it yesterday and last night. We're waiting to hear from the fellow who does our snow-blowing. Until he comes we will receive no mail or packages.
