This book was not intended for me but for Jews who do not believe in Jesus; however, evidently, it was in His plan for me to receive it. You see, I have often wondered about the beliefs of Jewish people who do not practice as in the Old Testament and do not believe the Messiah has come. From the book, "They Thought for Themselves", it appears many Jewish people place their trust in the Rabbi and his interpretation of spiritual matters. The people in the book experienced miracles and then they believed in Jesus. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus loved and touched the people with many miracles and then He was able to teach them the truth.
Certain chapters indicated a continuous separation of Jews and Gentiles. Yet even in the Old Testament, some called it the Jewish Bible, and in the "Jewish Bible", God always planned for the Gentiles to be His own. Read Malachi 1:11, Isaiah 11:10, 42:6, 60:3.
Were the Jews chosen as a special people because they were such a holy people? He chose them as His special people because Jesus had to come through this lineage of people as our Savior. He came through King David's family.
I hope at some point the Jews who are not thinking for themselves, will do just that, and build up enough courage to read The New Testament and stop being afraid of what they will find out about Jesus. Paul, Peter and the other apostles were all Jews who were inspired to write The New Testament by God.
Jesus is not the Jewish Messiah; He is the Messiah for all of us. Jesus is the head of His Church, and that means all of us who believe in His death, burial and resurrection can come together to worship and praise Him. Read Romans 11.
None of us need a preacher or rabbi to talk to God for us. We can study and be in His presence without another human being telling us what we should think. The Holy Spirit will do His job. It is time for those who believe they are better than others to WAKE UP! God is Love and will not tolerate His followers' behavior and actions that demonstrate nothing less than loving the Lord our God with all our hearts, soul, strength and mind; and loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.
The miracles gave the book a "warm and fuzzy" appeal until you came to the last few chapters. Readers need to pay attention to all of the prophesies in The Old Testament and the essence of a loving God.
