I like The Grim Grotto the best. And the mention of La Forza del Destino in The Penultimate Peril.

Lemony Snicket is amazing! Grim Grotto, Slippery Slope and The End were some of my favourites, but I loved all the series. The movie was a bit of a let down, as they combined the first three but ignored the rest of the series.

The movie wasn't as good as the books. :( but I still liked it.

Let me clarify: I liked the movie a lot but not really as a adaptation of the series. Just as a movie. I don't usually think of them as being connected.
