Ritesh Bhagwati (imdnextbuffet) | 3 comments Hi, everyone, i think this group has just been created with no activity. I hereby take initiatives and would like to inform you all that we can have threads of recommendations on the books which you have read and worth it?
So kindly share any book/s which you think we all should have read? By this, hoping some positive and relevant replies would pour in, thereby increase ones reach towards bookwormism :D

Apoorv Sinha | 1 comments I'm a voracious reader and have recently finished James Clavell's Noble house series /Asian Saga James Clavell. He's an brilliant storyteller and it takes a lot of self discipline to not take a small peek at the last page of any of his novels. His books are hard to put down. Trust me, i bunked 4 days of college so i could finish Taipan (One of his books).

I hope i am right on using the discussion board to
recommend books to fellow Mumbaities and avid readers

Puja Singhania | 4 comments I see this thread is inactive for sometime. Here are a few of my recommendations in the hope of blowing some life into this discussion. Warning - " I strictly read fiction"

1. Atonement by Ian McEwan
2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
3. Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi

Please share more recommendations on Literary fiction.

Puja, I have read so much about The Book Thief - am planning to buy it and read it at the earliest now :)

In literary fiction, I recommend some of the below:
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
2. 1984 by George Orwell
3. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
4. Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho

I realise that most of them are Classics - but they are the best form of literary fiction - the contemporary LitFic isn't as good.

Puja Singhania | 4 comments Wow Sharadha!

I have read and love Eleven Minutes and Jane Eyre. Will definitely give a shot to 1984. Pride and Prejudice I have seen the movie and that I think discourages me from reading the story all over again.

Oh my God, there are some closet fans of this book - Eleven Minutes - back when I read it, I thought that I was probably the only fan, but I'm glad to bump into others from time to time :) Haven't really gotten to reading Coelho again though - tried a hand at Brida but it was a bit heavy for me I guess, to grasp all the concepts in it.

Please do give 1984 a shot if you've not been inducted into the dystopian world - probably a good lightweight start, this novel.

4. To Kill A Mocking Bird
5. The Great Indian Novel

Hi Dia, appreciate your disclaimer. However, I would recommend you to use our Promotions - Self and Published folder which is customised to harbour promotional content rather than in here for the sake of relevancy. Good luck with your website! :-)
