Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2516 comments Book: Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #4; Were-Hunter, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Finished: Feb 16
Card/Color: Blue
Rating: 4.5 Stars

Review: I knew I would love this book from the previous book. Zarek was this stone cold bad ass that was banished to Alaska by Artemis due to his anti-social behaviors (more like sociopathic behaviors). For some reason, Acheron refused to give up on Zarek and this book was Acheron's final attempt at proving Zarek was worth keeping alive and keeping as a Dark Hunter.

Artemis and Acheron agreed to have Astrid judge Zarek's fitness to continue to live because many believe he is danger to other DH and humans in general.
What we got in this book was an inner look into the heart of a man so severely damaged by many, and a woman with a heart and touch soft enough to soothe Zarek's pain.
what a ride. WOW. Zarek and Astrid were definitely a great match. It's not exactly the same as Zsadist and Bella, but the passion was similar to me because the Hero and Heroine were so different.
This book is a must read and I will read the next book ASAP

I am 50% done with mine. I hope to finish today and maybe post review tonight or tomorrow.

I don't want to be last again (LOL)

message 212: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm looking forward to your review, Kat. I enjoyed that one.

I'm 1/2 way through mine as well, Ezi. Though, I've had to put it down, get off my butt, and get to work. :/ Boo!

I'm reading: House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires, #7) by Chloe Neill .

message 213: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I've finished my book

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover

Title/Author: Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
Date finished: 19th February
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Don't read this if you're looking for a fluffy love story. It is kind of but it has bigger, more uncomfortable issues within it as well. To be honest, I can't really say anything plot-wise. I did see quite a lot of it coming (apart from one thing) but it's definitely more focused on healing from horrible events. I liked the book though, it's the second good book that I've read by the author so I'd definitely buy more from her.

message 214: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) | 2441 comments Nice review Josie, I was wondering about 'Hopeless'...

Nice pick Ezi, I got that one on my tbr for ages, looking forward to your review.

For this weeks free read book I'm going to read Blood's Pride by Evie Manieri .

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2516 comments Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead

Book: Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead
Finished: February 18th
Rating & Review: 3.5 stars.
I enjoyed this one. It wasn't as dark as I thought it would be and there wasn't as much sex either. It was a about a woman who did something bad and decided accept a demon's offer to "fix" the mess she made if she would sell her soul to him, becoming a succubus.
But I enjoyed the story and it flowed well.
I enjoyed the mystery and I enjoyed the "love triangle".
I will read book 2.

message 216: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments What?! You enjoyed the love triangle? LOL! Nah, J/K! They make me cringe most times. I need to get back to that series and finish it up.

I've finished mine, but will need to pop back later w/my review.

Hope everyone's having a great week!

message 217: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2516 comments The love triangle resolved so it was good. I can't wait for our next card

message 218: by [deleted user] (new)

I just started my book yesterday I'm a quarter of the way through it and so far I'm really enjoying it, lots of action.

I can't wait for the next draw either, I'm really enjoying this team challenge so far.

message 219: by [deleted user] (new)

Also I need to ask if one of you guys will be able to do the card draw on March 9th and take over my captain duties for that week cause I will be leaving for vacation on the 7th. I'll be back on the 15th and be able to resume my captain duties then :)

There will be Wi-Fi where I'm going so I'll be able to check in and see the card for that week but I'll be on my tablet so posting links and such will be impossible for me, I hope this won't be a problem :)

message 220: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished my Book I'll post my review tomorrow :)

message 221: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) | 2441 comments I'm struggling with Blood's Pride by Evie Manieri , I will have to change it (I think I will dnf it, but I want to give it another try next week).

So I'm going to go with something that I know that I can read quick:
Moon Craving (Children of the Moon, #2) by Lucy Monroe

message 222: by [deleted user] (new)

Altered (Altered, #1) by Jennifer Rush

Book: Altered by Jennifer Rush
Finished: Feb 20 2013
Rating: 5 stars

Week 4 Review:
Altered by Jennifer Rush was a non-stop thrill ride from beginning to end. The story is about Anna and the four boys that are part of a government experiment. I don't want to say to much more about the plot cause I don't want to give anything away, suffice it to say that this book, for me anyway was fantastic.

I loved all the characters the quiet and mysterious Sam, dark and brooding Nick, the sweet and funny Cas and of course the philosopher that is Trev, these boys together make a formidable group of Altered people, with skills that go beyond the norm.

Anna's part in the story is by far the most interesting and I never for a second would of figured out her roll in it all before MS. Rush divulged that secret.

All in all this was a no holes barred, action adventure story that left me wanting more immediately after I finished, my only complaint is I now have to wait until Jan 2014 for the next book!!

Have fun on vacation.

whose gonna fill in for Kat?

I'm starting to get excited about going with just under 2 weeks left before I leave, I have to start thinking about what to pack :)

As little as possible. Since you are on vacation, no one will notice that you wore the same outfit 2 days ago. if they do, what do you care since you will never see them again (LMAO).

you need room in your suitcase for your souvenirs.

I find that I never wear 1/3rd of the stuff i bring, so now I travel really light. you can use the same skirt with different tops etc.
the only thing you need in abundance is underwear and toothpaste.

message 226: by [deleted user] (new)

Very true, and as I'm going down to the dominican all I really need is shorts, tees/tank tops and swimsuits

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

wow I can't believe it's almost time for a new card draw already, we are still waiting for 2 reviews but there is still lots of time left :D

message 228: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Glad you enjoyed ALTERED, Kat. I liked that one too. Very interesting story and it pulled me in quickly.

I'm sorry, but I will not be able to fill in for you. We're moving that week and I'm sure it will be chaotic.

Can someone fill in for Kat @ Mar 9th?

Back soon with my review.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires, #7) by Chloe Neill
Chicagoland Vampires #7 by Chloe Neill
Space: 101/Free Read
Read: 19 Feb
Rating: ★★★★☆
Review:

House Rules picks up three days before the house split from the Greenwich Presidium. The Cadogan House vamps are on the verge of becoming Rogues. Merit's life is as chaotic as ever. (view spoiler)

In addition to her house and heart issues, Merit is trying to help find out who is behind the death of vampire pairs. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the killings. She turns to each of her contacts, hoping someone can help solve the mystery, but each lead turns out to be a dead end (no pun intended).

I loved the Luc and Lindsey bits. And, I enjoyed the interaction, if brief, with Gabriel and his pack. I'm looking forward to Biting Bad in August. I love it when more than one book is released in a year's time.

I can fill in although the same problem remains, since the card drawing time is middle of the night for me, I can post after 6-7 hours. But if you don't find anyone who can do it sooner/quicker I can help.

ETA: I finished my book, review a little bit later today. :)

message 231: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Sorry I haven't been around much! My diss is in for Tuesday (wooo!) so after that I'll probably be around a lot more :D

I can probably do it - maybe if whoever is first here posts something like "about to pick a card" so we don't have two people do it at once, then the earlier people can get on with reading. Does this make sense? My brain is pretty fried lol ;)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) | 2441 comments Moon Craving (Children of the Moon, #2) by Lucy Monroe
Moon Craving by Lucy Monroe
Date finished: 22.Feb.2013.
Rating: 4 stars

Abigail was sick as a child and as consequence is now deaf. Church preaches that it is a sign of demonic possession, so she must hide her affliction by reading from lips. Shunned by her parents, her only comfort and friend was her sister Emily, who got married tot the highlander in Moon Awakening, the first book this series. Now Abigail is also sent to Scotland because her marriage is arranged by English king himself and should seal the peace between English and Scottish people. But how is she going to hide that she is deaf in new unknown environment? And if English church labeled her as a demon, what are cruel highlander tribes going to do to her?

Children of the Moon series is highlander historical romance series with a little bit of paranormal (because highlander tribes have shifters living in them). Lucy Monroe, as usual, weaves a sweet and sizzling romance story between main characters and spices it up with romance between side-characters and murder/conspiracy plots.
I must admit Moon Craving is my favorite book in this series, I really liked Abigail who was just the kind of heroine I like: smart, resourceful, stubborn... IO will definitely come back for more. :)

maybe if whoever is first here posts something like "about to pick a card" so we don't have two people do it at once, then the earlier people can get on with reading. <-- Sounds like a plan. If anyone pops online and doesn't see a card draw has been done, please draw and let us know what ya get. We'll all go off of that, if that works for everyone.
